Athlon Sports is revealing their Top 25.
http://www.athlonsports.com/
Lindy's is counting theirs down as well.

In Lindy's rankings, I don't really see BC being a top 25 team. I think they could end up being just outside of it. I know they return a lot of players, but I think they are underestimating how much coaching affects games.
Quote : | "THE BAD NEWS: Offensive line coach Jim Turner resigned in late April over philosophical differences in the direction of the program. Hmmm. The jury is out on Jagodzinski, who has a strong resume as an assistant, but has never been a head coach before." |
I have a problem with Athlon Sports ranking GT at 14. They lose Calvin Johnson and will be breaking in a new QB, who I realize had a good performance in the Gator Bowl. That all comes back to Calvin Johnson though. Even if he's not able to get the ball, then that more than likely means he's being double teamed, which opens up other receivers. Teams won't have to double up on one man that much this year when they play GT this year. They should be lower in my opinion.
GT's schedule (with my predictions)
2007 Schedule S. 1 at Notre Dame (L, ND should still be pretty decent and will be playing at home, but I could see GT winning this one) S. 8 Samford (W) S. 15 Boston College (W) S. 22 at Virginia (W) S. 29 Clemson (W) O. 6 at Maryland (L) O. 13 at Miami (L) O. 20 Army (W) N. 1 Virginia Tech (L) N. 10 at Duke (W) N. 17 North Carolina (W) N. 24 Georgia (L)
7-5, perhaps 8-4.

my top 25 to start the season
1. USC 2. Florida 3. Texas 4. Michigan 5. West Virginia 6. Louisville 7. Virginia Tech 8. Wisconsin 9. LSU 10. Ohio State 11. Auburn 12. Tennessee 13. Cal 14. UCLA 15. Texas A&M 16. Boise State 17. Florida State 18. Nebraska 19. Georgia 20. Oregon State 21. Rutgers 22. Notre Dame 23. TCU 24. Penn State 25. Miami FL
I really like oregon state this year they will have a good team and should compete for the pac 10 title. Rutgers is going to be a good team again, last year was no fluke they have built themselves into a solid program and they still have alot of their Offense coming back. Georgia Tech should not be ranked they have a new quarterback who threw to Calvin johnson alot in the bowl game against a weak WVU defense. Miami will get a pity spot in the pre season top 25 I think just because they are miami. 5/23/2007 10:22:41 AM |

Yeah I'm still unsure about Georgia Tech. I think they might be good enough just to creep into the Top 25, and perhaps stay there, but then again, I could see them start out in the Top 25 at the beginning of the season and drop right out of it midway through the year. They'll have a lot of games that could go either way. There's always 1-2 non-BCS schools that ends up in there, and that's the hardest thing to determine sometimes. Which non-BCS school will do well. Boise State, Fresno State, and TCU seem to be the most consistent. TCU returns a lot of players so they are going to probably be one of the better non-BCS schools, and Boise State seems like they'll be consistent for years to come with their coach. Of course who knows, they may have been mostly due to Dan Hawkins developing those players.

are there any big games september 29? if we can beat clemson theres a 50 50 chance we'll have a 4-0 vs 4-0 showdown which would be our biggest home game since gt in 02. i think lousiville is much more beatable than clemson. but we will prolly end up losign to bc so none of it will matter anyway. 5/23/2007 9:54:17 PM |

It was a joke, b/c whenever the entrance song debate comes up every year, someone always brings that one into the fray. I don't hate or love that song either way. I do want a song though that will make everyone go crazy. Like bring you up to the point were you almost punch that overly drunk douchebag to your left in the face, then before that happens the fight song starts up, the red fireworks go off and all that angst and excitement goes into you screaming for your team to come out and crush the visiting.
Question for the marching band members. Have you and the band director already started thinking up ideas for the upcoming season (i.e. new songs, formations, games you will travel too, new chants, perhaps making a more concerted effort in getting the students to rock back and forth to the Nnnnnn Ccccccc STAAAAAATEEEE chant and cadence)?5/30/2007 7:21:24 PM |

if the reason is because we're under contract with adidas, then why cant we just use that 2nd jersey pictured? it similar to the 2003 nike one
