^which is known as filling in left-over plot holes that they have no idea what to do with. it would have been better to have just had to Black Pearl set to explode and kill the damn thing after it ate jack in the last movie. would've been a better way to go out for something that was supposed to be so damn feared.

I think the Kraken was killed off fine. Lord Bennet made comment to how he can control the ship just as he made Jones kill his "pet". Just showed how powerful having the heart really was.

I liked it, though a little long. Good Visual effects. Its interesting to note that Will is still capable of marital relations every 10 years. They definitely set up a stand alone Johnny Depp Pirates movie. I know Orlando Bloom said he is done with the series and I am sure Kiera Knightley is done since they show her having a child 10 years in the future.

Did Will and Elizabeth's child resemble the kid from the hangman's noose at the beginning of the movie?

Getting to bwn once every 10 years?

All I have to say is that Keira must be the lay of the century.

Haven't seen the 3rd and I don't remember the 2nd all that well but I thought one of the points in getting the heart was to control Davy Jones and thus the kraken. With the kraken you could pretty much ensure that only your ships could sail worry free and monopolize all trading routes by sea.

It would be pretty stupid to kill it off.

Oh, well it's been a while since I've seen it. Still not a good excuse to get rid of one of your better weapons though.

I thought it was a fantastic movie. Not quite up to task as the 1st one (which is hard to do) but much better than the 2nd in my opinion. I also didn't have a very hard time following the storylines, though figuring out what side Will Turner was on proved hard at times. I watched the 1st & 2nd movies the night before going to see this one, so that might have helped.

The first one was a good adventure movie, but I saw no reason for a sequel. Number 2 was enjoyable though. At almost 3 hours, I don't even really want to see this one. Is it worth it?

If you dont want to see it, then its probably not worth seeing then is it?

Its not going to make you fall in love with the franchise or anything if thats what you're asking.

He'll find the fountain of youth in the fourth one, then take Keira to it so she can enjoy will for eternity.

"In the time it took the rest of us to roast a wienie and crack open a brew, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End plundered $142.1 million at the box office, giving it the record of best Memorial Day weekend debut ever. Still, the popcorn flick fell short of matching the biggest four-day opening numbers in history. That record was set less than a month earlier by Spider-Man 3, which raked in $151.1 million. Furthermore, the $115.1 million Friday-Sunday tally for World's End is significantly less than the $135.6 mil haul that Dead Man's Chest took in last summer."

It'll be interesting to see which of the two has better longevity as the weeks go on.

I think you got that backwards. The Dutchman sails faster against the wind.

^I'm not sure about against or with the wind, but it's mentioned a few times that the Pearl is the only ship that can catch/keep up with the Flying Dutchman

Saw this tonight and don't see how with that the series could be over.

Definitely going to be a 4th one and I will sure see it. I have actually liked all 3 so far.

Kiera Knightley said she wont do a 4th movie.

She was 17 when she started filming the first and is now 22. She wants to move on to other projects.

[Edited on May 30, 2007 at 12:38 AM. Reason : though there could be a 4th, im just saying she wont be in it]

i figured if they did do a 4th, then kiera and orlando wouldn't even need to be in it...i feel like they've wrapped up that plotline

they could have a bunch of new characters...like spaniards and new world-era tribes

I'm thinking back to seeing it last night, and the biggest thing that confused me is why the hell did the Lord of the Navy just let them destroy his ship? Did he realize he couldn't fight back, or was it something else?

Oh, and I was disappointed that Keira wore so much damn clothes in this one, no boobies at all.

Yeah, when you have the Black Pearl on one side and the Flying Dutchman on the other, you can pretty much kiss your ass goodbye. I think he is also realizing at that point that he has lost control of the Dutchman, which was really the only way he was as powerful as he was.
