"a guy from PackPride wrote this

Quote :
"From a friend who is a current Va Tech student:

"A man who works in my dad's office - one of his best friends is a paramedic in Roanoke. That guy is here at Tech today of course, and according to the police and rescue workers, the true death toll is 40 people. Also, the truth behind what really happened in AJ in the morning is the killer was suspicious his g/f was cheating on him, and managed to catch her in bed with another guy. So he shot them both on the spot.

Anyway, just found that news plus the higher death number very shocking. And yes, this info did travel from the paramedic to my dad's coworker to my dad and to me. However those are clear facts and direct from the inside of the investigation as far as we were told."
"

hahahahhaha i know who originally wrote that.

Gun control laws work great! . . .

. . . For law-abiding citizens. Mass-murderers don't really give a crap.

what sux is the media are mad at the school for not closing down the entire operation after the first incident. WTF!!! when I was at state we had a couple of shooting and they didn't close the whole thing down there is NO WAY they could have guessed this would have happened and I am so pissed that the uppity UNCch educated journalism majoring press is all "why didn't you stop it" i watched the news conference w/ the campus police chief and the poor guy who is understandably a little stressed is badgered by the damn media over what could have been done. Bastards

I was just studying with a friend from physics who is from a small town in the VA mtns... As soon as I saw him I asked if he knew anyone, and sure enough his best friend was killed... They talked to each other last night about going fishing as soon as exams are over... In his teary eyes all he could say was, "I'm still going fishing in our spot when I get back..."

think the kid got pissed off after he caught them went home changed and got another gun and went on a rampage?

that would explain alot more about it and the gap between the times.

and yea u cant really blame the cops, i mean when the shootings here happened they didnt shut down the football game where 60,000 people were.

Police are saying that the massacre guy didn't match the description for the shooter in the dorm room.

Yea, I think it is kinda silly too that they are so pissed off at them for not closing campus down. Hindsight is always 20/20. Apparently the students are pissed too that they weren't notified of the first shooting earlier.

You know darn well if VT officials would've sent out 26,000 text messages saying somebody got shot, everyone would've laughed it off and been mad about VT costing them $.15

i watched a few minutes of Olberman, and they were skewering the police too. I think it's unfortunate and very cruel to simply say "if the police had done xxx then 30 people wouldn't have died".
In almost any situation, police can do something better. But this all has to be in context. Blacksburg is a small town with a small town police force, with an average of 0 murders per year
http://www.cityrating.com/citycrime.asp?city=Blacksburg&state=VA
So if there is a shooting, it's not like they can rely on lots of experience and immediately jump into the perfect action.

Furthermore, common sense would tell you that if someone enters a dorm to commit murder and kills 2 people, he would then try to flee the area. There is no reason for them to even imagine that he would head to a crowded classroom area 2 hours later and unload. They would have every reason to start searching the campus and to set up a perimeter around the town, because experience would tell them that the guy would try to get out of Dodge ASAP.

They even had a guy on Olberman talking about what the police or the school could have or should have done, and he was like "well, maybe it's time that schools have sirens or alarms installed so if somethign happens there can be a campus wide siren alert to tell students to find somewhere safe" (somewhere safe? oh, like.... a dorm or classroom?) yeah.... out-fucking-standing idea. Every school in the country should do that now. And schools that don't have it done by the end of this semester don't care about their students!

yeah, fuck the media...always looking to blame someone

some lady earlier was saying the parents should sue the school...that's fucking ridiculous

the police did all they could with the information they had, that's why this is called a tragedy

yeah, i felt sorry for the police chief on TV. Here's a guy in a small town, where much doesn't happen, and then all of a sudden he's on CNN, MSNBC, etc. being bombarded with questions by the media trying to find someone to blame. Some of the media questions were just ridiculous. One guy asked, "Were the doors chained from the outside or inside." Hmmm, lets think about that.

Norris Hall is closed for the remainer of the semester. I would doubt that classes will be held in those rooms anymore. I would guess that those will be closed off and not used or made into a memorial of some sort.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Luby's_massacre

As a direct result of this massacre, in 1995 the Texas Legislature, led by Suzanna Gratia Hupp (whose parents were both killed in the massacre), passed a law over the veto of former Governor Ann Richards that allowed Texas citizens to obtain a concealed carry handgun permit in part as a reaction against the massacre. Soon after, many states considered similar weapon permits for citizens
