THANK YOU! i'm glad someone noticed that the turnovers are out of control. it really is close to impossible to pass, at least with the chargers. maybe because there isnt a WR in the bunch but i mean its so fucking stupid and frustrating. i like realistic games but when it comes to this, i think its just a bit skewed. plus, all these turnovers hamper the game, i mean who wants to play like that?

^ Nope, it doesn't suck.

You can play with the AI sliders as far as the turnovers go and you can probably make it more realistic. I always change the AI sliders, just going to need a good feel for this one before I do that.

you can also look online for good AI slider setups.

Alright, so played some more last night and fumbling really is a little ridiculous. I would sy 1/4 of all the kick off returns end up being fumbled.

Played a game last night online. Of course the guy was an ass and called no huddle after every play so I never got to choose my defense. Also I threw 6 passes in the first half, 4 of which were intercepted. Pissed me off quite a bit. I'll try and play one of you dudes some time seeing as you probably won't cheese.

^ Yeah it sucks. I remember back in Madden 05, 06 you could report players like that and they all had icons that listed how they are. So when they were assholes like that they had a bunch of Xs. That was great because then I knew who and who not to play. I tried reporting this guy and there is no option for it. Too bad.

^ I guess not. I thought the system they had when I played on Xbox back in the day was an EA implemented system. Either way I definitely think its something that needs to be added. Sucks to have assholes playing like that and no one can do anything to give feedback.

Also can't quit unless you're down by more than 21 points after the half. So I just had to stick it out for like 20 minutes, not having any fun at all, while I got cheesed on.

I think another thing is that you have to choose the team you play as based on the team that your opponent chooses. They need to be similarly rated. I was the Giants playing against the Colts. I never got near the QB but they sacked me on almost every pass I ran. They're O just destroyed me.

Ok, so has anyone really used the weapon system for catching yet? I'm trying to figure out how exactly this works. I think what you have to do is switch to the receiver after you throw the ball, and then tap or hold Triangle (or Y) to perform a spectacular catch opr posession catch, respectively.

I haven't really gotten this to work yet, but haven't tried much. how is it working for your guys? When you switch over to the receiver, do you then need to take over their route and control them, or do they just continue to run the route?

Also, not sure how the weapons system works for guys that have multiple weapons. I had a linebacker thats a brick wall defender and a smart linebacker, but I could not check his "light bulb" or read the plays because it always just had the "brick wall" icon on him. Not sure if you have to switch the players weapons around as you see fit (which would be totally lame) or if I am missing something.

to read the plays, both on offense and defense, they have to run the same play a few times (the icon starts to glow the more they use it) once its lit up, then you just bring up the coach screen (where it zooms out) and press LB (i'm guessing it'll transfer to L1 on ps2/3) and there ya go

^when using the catch weapon for receivers, I never switched to the the receiver at all...I just waited till the ball got close and tapped [Y] and it worked...

I made steve smith do a blind, over-the-shoulder, one-handed grab....I watched the replay like ten times...f'n amazing!!

I figured with the new system going with the catch thing you didn't have to...and I haven't seen "USER X" yet...I noticed it in 07, but I only played 07 with a friend and never against a computer...does it do this in 08 when playing the computer? if so...I haven't seen it yet, and it's not because I haven't done it...I just might not have noticed it...

OK, So I just got this game, and immediately upon opening the box and starting up an exhibition game, the first three plays (kick return, and the 2 plays after that) were fumbles.

I immediately decided that I can't play like this. I figured that it was perhaps a fluke, so I kept playing.

I played 2 games, and I could not get through a single quarter without fumbling at least once. This is with LT mind you. The computer fumbles almost as much.

Where are the sliders that affect fumbling? because this game is ridiculous right now.

thats the "protect the ball" button...slows you down a bit but covers with both hands...same button as NCAA i believe...i always do this when a tackler is approaching...doesnt completely eliminate fumbles but it GREATLY reduces them

i dunno...fwiw i got it from gamefly about a week ago and only played 2-3 games...i'm still renting ncaa so i wanted to get a nice draft class for madden as well as an importable superstar

but i'm sure there are some better slider settings you can find online somewhere...i just play with the defaults usually...if its versus human/online human its just as fair/unfair to each!

^ Definitely want to see those sliders, but I can't really find anything for the fumbles. Some picks are ridiculous though. The defense breaks on the ball so damn fast sometimes and they ALWAYS catch it. But yeah, if you throw a bad pass near a defender, its going to be picked, as it should be.

I tend to throw really stupid INTs as well. I have to work on that.

I'm also having a little bit of trouble running the ball. I'm guessing that I'm not being patient enough for the holes to develop on the line. However, I feel like if I don't hold the turbo button off the snap, I'll get tackled for a loss. Whenever I get about 2-4 yards a carry, I feel a little satisfied.
