Ok, so let me get this straight; are you saying that pro-lifers, whose major opposition, in general, is to the destruction of human life without that human's consent are hypocrites if they eat meat of any kind? Red Herring. 5/8/2007 7:03:54 PM |

Pro-life: Saving human embryo's by night, eating chicken embryo's by day. I guess they do have a few cells that are different at that point 5/8/2007 7:27:36 PM |

Ok, you are saying that human embryos:chicken embryos. Since pro-lifers assert that the human in utero should have the same basic human rights as the born human, by your logic pro-lifers would assert that pre-hatched chickens should have the same rights as full grown chickens. Full grown chickens don't fall under the protection of basic human rights.
And what does that have to do with how pro-lifers feel about various gods (ignoring the fact that pro-lifers come from varying religious backgrounds)? 5/8/2007 9:25:48 PM |

eggs (the ones you get at the grocery store) don't contain fertilized embryos
so try again

Haven't you ever seen them test this? They shine light behind an egg to see if there's a developing chicken in the egg.

Even electric spotters (I am assuming that is what you are calling those shiny light things) do not catch everything, blood spots come out in eggs pretty frequently. To assume that any process is 100% proof of any error is just absurd, especially with how many eggs are sold in grocery stores.

actually that was sarcasm per your definition:

I guess it boils down to no life really matters unless its human.
Actually, I concede, we should outlaw abortion, its an easy way out and does not allow people to be creative in how they get rid of their kid.5/9/2007 6:47:20 AM |

I know its not going to happen, but I would find it hilarious if all the doctors she went to in Britain told her they won't work on her and to go somewhere else. 5/9/2007 1:48:37 PM |

You don't get it. Chickens that are used in commercial applications are kept away from roosters entirely: they simply cannot have fertilized eggs. Those blood spots are "caused by the rupture of a blood vessel on the yolk surface during formation of the egg or by a similar accident in the wall of the oviduct. Less than 1% of all eggs produced have blood spots." The only reason they use the spotters at all is to check for blood spots.

I'm glad they finally let her go to England.

for being less than 1% i've certainly had more than my fair share of blood spots in my egg yokes. I've also frequently have found 2 yokes in each egg.5/10/2007 4:47:59 AM |

^ I never stayed on our egg laying side much, but yeah you would be surprised how many get thrown out just for blood spots and still show up in the grocery store (not sure if you have to throw them out though but we always did), and 2 yolks is pretty common.

Interesting, I guess its standard procedure now to fertilize every hen on a poultry farm by hand, and also to throw away the eggs that don't get fertilized5/10/2007 6:42:03 AM |
