^^ took off all the body panels, peeled off the stickers, sanded them down. next is primer and paint, but i can't decide what i want.

^ that actually crossed my mind
i've considered yellow, plain white, and custom graffiti graphics (from a friend). can't decide.

you want custom graffiti....

http://brentroad.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=542989

goto the parts store and get some dupli color paint. i think you can also get them in walmart and stuff. they've got a nice selection of cool colors

i bought that red color (its a little brighter than it looks, its a camera phone)... for like $2.

thats a steal. usually those paints go for aorund $4-5 i think. it was on clearance (Clarance) at advance autoparts.

heck, one can of any paint will do your scooter right.

white background and graffiti on each piece?

i was thinking about this initially, but i'm worried the bike will have no continuity.

so my scoot will start, but after running full power for about 10 seconds it starts choking and then dies. I just cleaned out the carb, and that didnt help. Tried messing around with the mixture screw, but that didnt help either. suggestions?

anyone have any other suggestions for something to do to my met? i tried contacting the big-bore manufacturer (http://www.chanitomotor.com/big_bore_piston.htm), but they didn't answer their phone OR respond to email

i suppose i could wait, but in the meantime...options are big-bore rebuild ($285), OEM rebuild ($240-260), or 80-150cc drop-in...the big-bore only comes from the manufacturer linked above (supposedly) and the OEM parts can be gotten from any number of places...the 80-150cc GY6 drop-in could be done (http://www.urbanscootin.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10682), but i don't know for how much (Oppera mentioned in the chit chat thread that an 80cc drop-in could be done for $75-100, but i don't know where he's getting those numbers from)

suggestions? links? the goal is to spend as little money as possible (obviously), but faster would be nice, too

igor, sorry y0, i couldnt get the cable. my friend sold all his parts. but hit up ebay, but make sure you know what the ends look like. there are couple different kinds.

there are pretty much 3 things on that scoot that'll make it run right.

you've got spark... and power (batt/kick start).

like ^^ said.... rip off the fuel line and crank the scoot.. see if gas pours out. if so, then its your carb.

you can clean a lot of carbs out, but they arent expensive so you might as well get another.
when you said you've cleaned the carb, did you literally take every single thing apart from it and clean it out? make sure you do. they arent too difficult to screw with.

oh and do a valve adjustment while your at it.

do you have a 2 or 4 stroker?

i think i remember you saying it was an advance auto scoot. so prolly a 4 stroke?

like i said, hit up ebay.

my bad y0,

http://www.diytrade.com/china/4/products/2998600/GY6_139_QMB_Big_Bore_Kits_60_72_CC.html

the quote the lady gave me was $120 shipped. not sure why i was thinkin 75-100.. maybe that was for the carb i was lookin at.

ah, now that i'm checking online, there's a number of places to get a GY6 big bore kits available

here's 72cc, for ~$150 after shipping: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320313938097

i sent the dude an email, asking if it'd work with the met...it's half the cost of the 60cc one (but then, i'm sure it uses cheaper components...the other one uses a wiseco piston, which tripleD4u speaks highly of)
