It was pretty good. The season finale is going to be that shitty Princess Bride tribute... I hated the musical thing and for a season finale that is

I don't remember... some entertainment show I saw in passing on tv. it's on wikipedia too though.

I'm guessing Season 8 is confirmed at least internally as I can't imagine the series finale being this crap..

GEE, I WONDER IF JD AND ELIOT WILL GET BACK TOGETHER?

By the way, the first part of the episode tonight was the funniest since at least season 3 to me... I was dying when Ted asked the girl to have his baby...

^ season finale... nbc isn't going to advertise the show for ABC so it's the nbc finale.. there will be an 18 show season 8 though.

^ Maybe...but my thoughts are that Kelso will be coming back...especially now if ABC will be picking the show up for a season 8.

I mean look at the episode this week I don't think Cox really WANTS to nor would he make a good Chief. He's too hands on of a doctor to be an administrator.

And Kelso might really be bored with being "retired"...the hospital asks him to come back and he does...

Then again it might be a production mix up....my poor brain couldn't handle a whole 18 ep season without Kelso...

Probably just a fantasy. Plz to remember that Elliot is private practice and Kelso has no firing power over her.

That being said, I have enjoyed the episodes that I have seen this season, but the series is definitely nose-diving. It used to be part medicine part comedy, and now almost all the medicine is gone. Zack Braff's attempts at acting like a nice guy just seem to be really terrible now, and JD has gone from a lovable character to one of the most annoying and sissified characters on TV. The character is now more infantile and helpless than when the series started. Not to mention they have pretty much destroyed the whole JD and Cox relationship that they were building.

My ideal series finale would be for JD and Elliot to get back together, as they made it very apparent that it was meant to be in the first two seasons. JD will go into his head, ask himself why he didn't see things this clearly several years ago and wished he had done things differently . . . then immediately flashback to Turk and Carla's prewedding dinner and realize that those last couple of years were all just in his head. He will NOT dump Elliot then they will have a grand fast forward showing how everyone's lives actually turn out (which would pretty much be the same minus Kim + JD and Elliot + Keith).

Of course, this won't actually happen because this last season has been in complete "abandon ship" mode while at the same time leaving themselves open to potentially do another season. Not a good recipe.

Where did kelso come from? Was this filmed earlier in the season and then marked as the finale? Where there more episodes between ep '11' and '10' or what? Granted I watched ep 10 drunk as all hell but I only remember kelso being in it laughing at carla's helpus proposal re: cox.

what am i missing here.

Clearly this was something they must have had filmed before, or at least parts of it. With the writer strike it probably pushed everything off and they decided to hold this episode till the end because it was unique and different and they figured a good way to go out.

If that was the last scrubs ever, what a shame. If it ends up on a different station, it isn't much better where is the show going to go, except for a 1 season wrap up.

Although scrubs has gone downhill a bit, it was still great at one time and solid over the past few years, but the way the end of it has been handled has really ruined it.

Yeah, that episode was a complete catastrophe. They were supposed to reveal the Janitor's real name, so that could not have been the planned series finale. Here's to hoping for at least a DVD release of the final.

The Kelso thing confused me initially. My thoughts are that we saw the episode where Kelso leaves, but they planned an episode where he would return in the future to reclaim the throne. This episode would likely have been placed after that. My guesses are that they wanted to do this episode because it wrapped up the Eliot and JD thing . . . though in the most anti-climactic and cop-out way possible. This episode also look like a lot of work went into it to give it an 'epic' feel . . . though it was about the same feeling I got from the 30 minutes of Epic Movie that I had to sit through.

You're completely right. The way they did this negated everything that had been built up the last few weeks. It was basically, "Oh, by the way, all that with JD and Elliot was nothing. They're just friends"

And I know it's a small thing, but I wanted Dr. Cox to give JD a hug on the final eppisode.

That was f'ing terrible... BUT it was clearly supposed to be shown before the past few week's episodes.. so it really doesn't do anything to tell us about Eliot/JD.. that will be done in Season 8 on ABC I'm sure...

nbc has been fucking this show for like 3 seasons now, so I shouldn't be surprised that they moved shit around to get their way this year

But Sarah Chalke

hey guys, this should brighten everyone's mood.

I told you it would happen

Quote :
"In what may well be the most anti-climactic announcement in the history of anti-climactic announcements, Zach Braff confirmed to his cronies on MySpace today that Scrubs will, in fact, be moving to ABC next season. His complete missive is below:

Dear friends,

Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.

Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.

Hope this clears some things up.

peace and love,
zb

Look for the news to be made officially official tomorrow at ABC's upfront presentation."

The episodes being run out of order helps clear some other things up as well.

It looked like they were building towards a JD/Elliot reunion (obvious, I know but still) and that last episode seemed to squash that.

Now it seems that the buildup was supposed to happen AFTER the princess ep, which makes a lot more sense.

I just hope ABC doesn't mess with the schedule as much as the network bastards at NBC did.

^if its a midseason run then they probably wont. The thing about abc though is they don't have very many half-hour shows and I dont really see it fitting with Samantha-Who? So i dont really know where it will fit on the schedule but, yeah, if its a midseason run it wont have the time to get moved around

all they did was swap episode 10 and 11. It makes perfect sense:

They ended with a hint that JD and Elliot were getting back together with the whole "Why do people think I'm his mother?" and them laughing and having a moment.

And the Janitor's name is Josh.

"Ive been called a lot of bad things.... Josh..."
"Even though all of these things are somewhat true.."

or something. Even though I'm not sure if that was ep. 10 or 9.

the best part of the janitor is when JD caught his cameo on The Fugitive.

they should have kept that going with JD watching other random movies and him popping up. I think he was in Rookie of the Year or Angels in the Outfield

Here is some Great news!

Good read and makes me excited about next season.

Quote :
"One of the many reasons I love Bill Lawrence is that the dude doesn't mince words. At a time when sound-bites have become as carefully crafted as a Martha Stewart petit four, Bill continues to tell it like it is. And on the heels of the official confirmation that Scrubs is headed to ABC for an 18-episode final season, he has a lot to tell. About the show's network-hop. About the beef he has with the suits at NBC. And about the somewhat radical changes in store for J.D. and Co.

Why'd it take so long to announce this thing?
Bill Lawrence: As I understand it, it was legally very important not to say anything officially until after the show had finished its run on NBC.

What led to the break-up with NBC?
Lawrence: When the strike ended, we told NBC that, even though we had another seven episodes mapped out, we could do it in three, and they just didn't have any interest. Total harsh buzz of not giving a s--t about a show that had been on the network for seven years and made them millions of dollars. And I'd be more bitter, except that it worked out good for us.

They didn't want to do any kind of wrap-up?
Lawrence: Not only did they not want to do any kind of wrap-up, but they took an episode that was supposed to air in the middle of the season — the fairytale episode — and marketed it as a series finale. Which was bulls--t. It was never supposed to be a series finale, much less a season finale, and I think it ended up getting judged kind of harshly because of it. If it was just a regular episode that people had tuned into I think they would've thought it was cool and funny.

I was under the impression NBC was willing to give you one episode to finish things off. No?
Lawrence: Well, here's the thing. When the strike ended, NBC said, "You can shoot an hour-long finale, but we'll only pay for half of it." They wanted [ABC Studios] to suck up all the expenses, and ABC said that was unacceptable. And it felt especially harsh because Scrubs was pulling in better [ratings] than 30 Rock and My Name is Earl — even though I love those two shows — and they were encouraged to do as many f--king episodes as they can after the strike. And after seven years, I ask for three episodes to wrap up the series and they say, "Tough s--t."

How do you go from three episodes on NBC to 18 on ABC?
Lawrence: It was weird, man. I was thinking we'd put these last six episodes on DVD, just so we can wrap the show up and be proud of it, but the head of ABC Studios, Mark Pedowitz, said, "Bill, if you can make the show a little cheaper, I can probably get us a full season on ABC." I didn't answer right away. The first thing I did was call the cast and the writers together and I said, "Look, if we're going to do this, we have to get back to something we creatively can all be excited about." Because, personally, I felt like this past season we were less than inspired comedically. So I said to them, "This means you guys working harder. It means having emotional stakes and losing all the goofy, broad stuff that I think is easy to write… " And everyone said they were on board for one more season.

Will the show still be a comedy?
Lawrence: It's still a comedy, but when we first did the show, it was a drama with elements of comedy and lots of stupid sound effects. But some of the strongest episodes in the second and third year had character comedy. You can still do things like kill Brendan Fraser and have the lady that loved musical theater die and then sing a song at the end. This became a very Simpsons-esque show with incredibly broad, unrealistic moments and fantasies that were both in reality and not in reality. When you've been writing this show for seven years, it's so easy to get into these patterns of writing the same jokes over and over: J.D. loves Turk, J.D. wants Dr. Cox's approval, Elliot's whiny and neurotic. But this year the stuff is really f--king good. I think our old stand-by fans are really going to dig these shows.

Is Ken Jenkins (Kelso) still a series regular?
Lawrence: He's still a series regular. The core of his participation this year is with Dr. Cox, who becomes Chief of Medicine. Now that Dr. Kelso is no longer a hospital bureaucrat, he is actually a decent human being and is Dr. Cox's confidant because Cox can't really talk to anyone else about how much that job sucks.

I heard you were looking to cast a new Chief.
Lawrence: That's just a piece of stunt casting that we're going to do for three episodes.

Talk to me about these budget cuts that ABC requested. Are we going to notice anything missing?
Lawrence: No. We have a smaller writing staff and we're filming the show in four-and-a-half days instead of five. And, you'll never notice it because we have so many actors on the show, but every cast member is taking two episodes off.

Even Zach?
Lawrence: Even Zach. Remember, I've done one or two episodes every year where J.D. isn't in the show except for one line, and some other character has the voiceover. It wasn't all that noticeable. It just looks like a cool creative choice.

OK, Scrubs fans, you buying what Bill L. is selling? Does the prospect of a more grounded, less zany Sacred Heart make you giddy with excitement? Would one episode on NBC have been enough of a send-off, or are you happier with the 18 we're getting on ABC? (I think I know the answer to that one.) Comment away below!"

^yeah, based on this and what NBC has done with other promising shows and not giving them the chance to establish themselves I have really dropped NBC from my watch list. Honestly heroes and Earl and Scrubs are all i followed over the last season and with one slumping, one sucking, and one gone I have no reason to even stop on this channel anymore.
