^haha, thanks. Yeah, I was beginning to wonder myself. It doesn't make much sense b/c I understood he was selling it at shows in Europe, so I assumed someone would've uploaded it long ago. Maybe I was wrong.

At least we have it now.

Bump this thread to show more love for Vampire Weekend.

This is the most enjoyable 35 minutes so far in this short year. I hope these fools tour in the Triangle.

Well, the full length LP comes out this month, as noted earlier... so, we can still celebrate it in '08, amirite?

love her. but i think its one of those things that has to grow on you. i had a friend that dug her and i couldn't really get into it. then one day i just sat down and listened and maybe it was right day + right mood type of thing, but i like her. saw her live though like 3 or 4 years ago. that sucked. she was so stage fright like...awful show. i wanted to go this year but....twas too $$$$$

i think this album actually came out at the end of 2007 im not sure but i just saw people talking about it now and picked it up. band called "Shangrala", album called "this is how we communicate".

maybe for fans of bloc party and minus the bear? kind of groovy up beat rock

^ Thanks for the tip. They sound pretty good. Too bad they're not playing soon, as I've been stuck in their hometown of Jacksonville, FL for the past week. Reminiscent of Mock Orange with Minus The Bear guitar stylings.

2002 or 2003, I think. She was unable to successfully finish at least half of her songs. She also played one song twice without realizing it.

Oink was pretty great for getting things the millisecond they drop, but someone always ends up uploading it 10 minutes later anyhow.

[Edited on January 17, 2008 at 3:45 PM. Reason : not sure what i think of this destroyer album yet. might be a little too heavy on vocals. dunno yet.]

I guess this could go in the concert thread, but I'm going to throw it in here for now.

The Modern Skirts from Athens, GA are playing tonight at The Pourhouse. I talked to one of the guys today and they're going on at 10 or 10:30.

This is one of the best unsigned bands around right now; they're heading up to Richmond tomorrow to finish recording their next record that they did with REM's Mike Mills on production.

Check 'em out--- if you like indie rock with a lot of Beatles, Beach Boys and Zombies influences (3 part harmonies, 2 guitars, piano, etc) then come enjoy the show.

holy hell, now they've shut down Rapidshare!
Quote :
"On 19 January 2007, news broke that German collections agency GEMA had claimed to have won a temporary injunction against both RapidShare.de and RapidShare.com. "The latter is said to have used copyright protected works of GEMA members in an unlawful fashion,".[4] To date RapidShare has claimed not to have any knowledge of the content uploaded by the users and of not being in a position to control the content. Through its injunctions the District Court in Cologne had now however made it clear to the company that the fact that it was the users and not the operator of the services that uploaded the content onto the sites did not, from a legal point of view, lessen the operator’s liability for copyright infringements that occurred within the context of the services, the spokesman added."
