I have a college degree and a number of certifications. I am a licensed secondary English teacher and I have worked in the educational field for a number of years. I have never had any difficulties finding a job because of the tattoos that I have.

When I started my own business 2 years ago, I had a strong enough reputation so that I no longer had to take great care in the placement and covering of my tattoos. Most of my clients are stay at home mothers and they would resent the hell out of being called "lazy ass women" because most of them had rich fulfilling careers before they had children and many of them still seek ways to contribute outside of the home through numerous groups and volunteer activities.

My husband makes enough money that I do not have to work, but I currently work because I enjoy my job. I specifically chose to run my own business so that I could spend as much time with my children as possible. If I do decide to close up shop after our first one gets here (on Tuesday, btw), I certainly do not plan on sitting at home.

I also understand that the landscape of America is changing. People simply do not bat an eye at things like piercings or tattoos anymore. Just in the past 3 years that my husband has been in management the hiring practices and standards of dress have changed dramatically in his work place to accomodate the younger workforce.
