That is correct. That was the trade. I am not to really worried about TE position...I believe Crumpler will have a big year in Tenn with VY....and Winslow will probably be on par.

^^two AZ WRs is questionable....it's likely to be feast or famine. You might want to package boldin for another Stud rb/wr. also, unless you have a flex spot to start both TE's you can try to get rid of one (cooley has a higher value, and scheffler is going to have a breakout year imo, so use cooley as bait.).

What is it about the AFC that you don't like?

Other than Scheffler...all NFC teams. That's not good or bad...it's just weird.

An I am not at all big on having 2 WR's from the same team as starters.

it just ended up that way

i proposed boldin, cooley, and deangelo for TO. he'll probably decline, but having so many bench players in this league is useless, so, why not...with no flex spot, you really only need a couple solid backups.

yeah if its not Moss and Welker I'd be hesitant about 2 WRs from the same team...its possible to have good luck with Marvin/Reggie (Marvin looked pretty decent in the Panthers preseason game) or Ocho/Housh but I also like Peyton and Palmer much more than Leinhart or whoever ends up playing QB for the Cardinals

Need to rid my team of some Cowboys, so really I need some help figuring out a trade for a better WR or RB to replace Crayton or Felix, but heres my team

QB - Big Ben
RB - AP
RB - Felix Jones
WR - Wes Welker
WR - Patrick Crayton
TE - Dallas Clark
D/ST - Packers
K - Nick Folk

(stacked with Cowboys I know...)

BE - Eli Manning
BE - Ben Obanmanu
BE - Justin Gage
BE - Jemarcus Russell
BE - Zach Miller
BE - Deshaun Foster (lol)

I was thinking a JeMarcus and Crayton or Jones combo trade for a better WR/RB, but what do yall think?

is it a PPR league? Felix Jones has looked good in preseason, I wouldn't let him go just yet, especially since your RB depth is atrocious

I asked something about who I should pick in the #7 slot.

We know S. Jackson is now getting paid, so should he still be selected or should he be a worry since he got paid and now he can ease up?

I'm still leaning Portis if it's between Jax/Portis/Moss...

I ended up going with Portis. How does my roster look?

10 Team League

QB - Ben Roethlisberger
RB - Clinton Portis
RB - Willis McGahee
RB - Edgerrin James
WR - Braylon Edwards
WR - TJ Houshmanzadeh
TE - Todd Heap
D - Eagles
K - Josh Brown

BE - Matt Schaub
BE - Thomas Jones
BE - Donald Driver
BE - Joey Galloway
BE - Ted Ginn Jr.
BE - John Carlson

^go ahead and switch Willis with Thomas Jones (they open up against Miami).

You really need another backup RB, you only have 4 and you start 3, plus McGahee blows.

Drop one of the 5 or 6 WR's and pick up whoever else is still out there.

WOW...You start 3 RB's and 2 WR's?

Shouldn't he start 3 RBs and 2 WRs?

Ok, time to pick my keepers. Normal ESPN League. Pick 5, 2 per position:

QB: Brady
RB: Willis McGahee, Jamal Lewis, Ryan Grant
WR: Randy Moss, Greg Jennings, Houshmandezah, Marques Colston

I like Willis McGahee last year, but I'm kinda scared to keep him. Jamal Lewis is solid, even if he's not a sexy pick. Grant has the most upside, but I'm scared they'll stack the box against him now.

At wideout, things get even worse. Moss is obvious, but who between Colston and Housh? Colston has more upside, but Housh has been money for like 3 years and is the most consistent WR pretty much.

^Colston is going to be a fucking beast this year

and if you are going to have McGahee on your team, better get Ray Rice and get ready for a huge headache.

I dont have alot of faith in him.

where would yall rank San Diego's defense now that Merriman's career might be over?

There won't be too much of a drop-off, given San Diego's depth at OLB and Ted Cotrell's emphasis on interceptions over all-out pressure. If this was still Wade Phillips' defense, I'd be more worried. But Jyles Tucker will likely be able to step in and contribute.

That said, I don't think we've seen the last of Merriman this season, and we definitely haven't seen the last of him for good. Stop reading PFW. The dude is 24. And it's a freaking PCL tear, which usually heals on its own without reconstructive knee surgery. I'm sure he'll be fine sooner or later, and hopefully he'll only miss a month or so.

Norv seems to think he'll come back soon.

Grant will have a mediocre season unless Rodgers can fill the gap.

Panthro, PM buddy...

my bench RBs are Maurice Morris (SEA), Deuce (NO), and Kevin Smith (DET).

Here are some available RBs:

Jerious Norwood (ATL)
Ahman Green (HOU)
Chris Brown (HOU)
Steve Slaton
Sproles (SD)
Cadillac Williams (TB)
Andre Hall (DEN)
Adrian Peterson (CHI)
Chris Johnson (TEN)

Those are the only ones that I think will have a chance at playing. If you can think of any others that I should look at, let me know.

I'm drafting tomorrow at the #3 spot. It is a PPR league, and the first two picks will probably be LT, then Westbrook. I'm leaning toward Steven Jackson, but still open to AP. Any opinions on who is the #3 RB in PPR leagues?

agreed

Steven Jackson (as long as he stays healthy) is a reception magnet for Bulger and will still get the carries on top of that.

I should've explained my league setup earlier.

It consists of

1 QB
3 RB/WR
2 WR/TE
1 TE
1 K
1 DEF

It was setup so that a team could play a different formation at any given week. Go wishbone and go 3 RBs, spread with 1 RB, 4 WR, 5 wide with 0 RB, 5 WR, Power I with 2 RBs, 2 TEs...you get the point.

It's why I have as many WRs as I do. If an RB gets hurt, I can always go with 2 RBs and 3 WRs or something to that effect.

I will switch Thomas Jones with McGahee for the first week unless I hear anything different about McGahee's health.

2. Who are all the rookie RBs that have a chance to see a lot of time?

Carolina players don't seem to be too popular in drafts. If you play with non-carolina people, delhomme should be a steal, and even steve smith slips in mock drafts i have been doing. RB is genuinely tough to choose, though.

Pretty excited about my squad. I've played every year since 1995 so I'm a very solid drafter but this was my first year using the auction format.

We start 2 QB's, 3 RB's, 3 WR's, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 D

QB: Matt Schaub ($3), Aaron Rodgers ($3), Jason Campbell ($2), Vince Young ($2)

RB: Adrian Peterson ($38), Brian Westbrook ($52), Jamal Lewis ($20), Matt Forte ($5), Chris Johnson ($2)

WR: Santonio Holmes ($14), Greg Jennings ($10), Roy Williams ($15), Dwayne Bowe ($8), Anthony Gonzalez ($8), Devin Hester ($2), Ron Curry ($2)

TE: Heath Miller ($7)

K: Phil Dawson ($1)

D: Dallas ($2), Minnesota ($1)

My only regrets are spending $10 on Jennings when I could have gotten Cotchery for $11 and got two guys just as good (Bowe, gonzalez) for $8. I should have used that money on a quality 4th RB since both of my backups are more sleepers than known quantities. Also wish id gone after D'Angelo Williams harder instead of stopping at $10...

My QB's look bad initially but everyone was way overbidding on other guys so I think ill go into the season with this four headed monster and maybe sit back and look for trade opportunities.

Peyton
Adrian Peterson
Willie Parker
Willis Mcgahee
Marshawn Lynch
Reggie Wayne
Larry Fitgerald
Dallas Clark

This is a dynasty league, so thats how I have the most baller team ever, not because I got them all in a one year draft.

Anyway, I am a little worried that I have Peyton, Reggie Wayne, AND Dallas Clark. I feel like that is putting to many eggs in one basket..Colts are a potent offense, but if they have an off night, a good portion of my team has an off night. Im thinking about trading Clark to get another TE to spread it out a little bit.

Thoughts?

Why are people even drafting McGahee? He is not worthy at all.

I picked Rice in hopes of McGahee choking/not coming back strong/etc... Good pick?

Also, what's up in Chicago and Cincy at the RB spot?

my team: 12 man league

QB: Favre
RB: Addai
RB: Ryan Grant
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Chad Johnson
WR: Nate Burleson
TE: Vernon
K: Kasay
DEF: Tennessee (for Week 1 atleast... I like their potential though, especially with special teams)

Schaub
Rice
Jon Stewart
Norwood (hoping to pick up a better RB as soon as everyone clears waivers in the league)
Berrian
Hackett
Bryant Johnson
Devin Thomas

Not quite sure which QB to go with...Jay Cutler was ranked higher than Eli but I trust the Giants to move the ball down the field a lot more than I do the Broncos. Also, which D will come through bigger, Seattle or Indy? Any thoughts?

Here's my team:

QB - Eli Manning
RB - LT
RB - Maurice Jones-Drew
WR - Hines Ward
WR - Chad Johnson
WR - Reggie Wayne
TE - Antonio Gates
K - Adam Vinatieri
D - Colts

Bench - QB - Jay Cutler
Bench - QB - Jeff Garcia
Bench - RB - Ahmad Bradshaw
Bench - RB - Derrick Ward
Bench - TE - Kevin Boss
Bench - D - Seahawks
Bench - WR - Marvin Harrison

If anybody wants in on a league, I've got a couple of slots open.....Some of the basics:

$25 entry fee (covers league upgrade and $125 - $175 first place prize....I could also break it down where 2nd and 3rd get their $ back if the majority of people want that)

PPR league with per game total yardage bonuses for QB, RB and WR.

defensive shutouts 30 pts

3 week, 6 team playoff format with top two reg season seeds having a 1st round bye.

Right now, the draft is live in Yahoo, set for 9/3 @ 9:00pm, but can be changed if needed

If you're interested, send a PM.

I might be way off here, but a TE I am keeping my eye on is Ben Utecht in Cincy. I think he may put up decent numbers in that offense. I drafted Vernon but may add Utecht at some point.
