Presto Chango may be my new favorite Pixar short. (With the birds on a wire at a close second)

Great movie.

The point where it starts to drag is where the two finish flying in space and realize the must do all this obvious shit to resolve the story. The bad part about the falling action is that everything was so fast that you didn't get time to appreciate how the graphics or animation details (and there weren't really any interesting twists in the plot during this time to make up for it).

If the "action" of the falling action were somehow just confined to the 2001 scene, that would have made it a better movie IMHO. That leaves more time for the "magic"

Watching all the previews for upcoming 3d movies then watching Wall-E highlights just how far ahead of everyone else Pixar is.

Just went and saw it last night!

I kept thinking how embarassing it would be to be an obese person watching that movie.

But I loved it! And I'm so happy Wall-E and Eve lived happily ever after

Why would you click on a 4 page discussion of a movie you haven't seen and expect no spoilers?

What do you think is going to get discussed for 4 pages? The previews?

I saw it and it was one of the worst movies ive ever seen

*******SPOILER**********

basically the plot is white people drive SUV's until the ozone hole is so loose and there is so much garbage it piles up higher than skyscrapers
this destroys erf and people in africa an other countries all die
the only survivor is a robot, Walle, and a cockroach

except that the white folks got them a space ship a said peace and went into space before the shnat went down
after everyone on erf is killed they decide to comback in the whole plan is called "Destroy and Recolonize"

it was sickening and the worst part is that they were seen as the good guys

terrible

So aside from the message, how did you like the animation, soundtrack, and direction? I don't think the message of a movie should destroy its entirety.

i was just playing about the message,
of course it was a very good movie with the animation and story
but the message is kinda dumb, to think the people who recolonize the earth are the ones that destroyed it kinda is not a good message

obviously that was not part of it

the ones who destroyed it are long dead

the newer people are 700 years into the future, and they don't know any better/different

yeah but they're decendents of the one who killed the planet
on the other hand everyone else that was just living there got wiped out
so who won?

the message seems to be as long as you have the technology to avoid the consequences of your mistakes then you win

but anyways i think your sarcasm detector is broke, i just think 4 pages of sucking walle's nuts and bolts is enough
beside the message is not good

yay saw it tonight finally. LOVED it. so great. loved the short one at the beginning too. love love love.

and i loved the animation/direction AND i didn't think the message was as retarded as people make it out to be in this thread. eric and i were talking after about how people are definitely gonna run to wal-mart to buy it whenever it comes out

it also kinda reminded me of this book i used to read when i was tres petite:

we just saw it

i think the visual effects were stellar (as are most Pixar films) but i definitely think the story left a lot to be desired

it was good, but it wasn't great, and i wouldn't want to watch it again

ive seen it 4 times now, the 4th time being the most enjoyable. these are my favorite scenes:

spoilers

-i love the beginning when wall-e is going down the skyscraper he's built and you can see a lot of the city when the words WALL-E appear, and also the part where he's riding on the tram track and you can see more of the city

-the very beginning with the song from hello dolly and the views of the galaxy

-the part where wall-e is looking through the junk and putting stuff in his lunchbox (the part with the bra)

-i thought it was hilarious the two times where he's under the ship and he has to dig a hole to protect himself

-the part after eve gets caught by the magnet and blows up those ships and asks wall-e for his directive and he makes the trash cube and goes "tada"

-the same part when they say their names for the first time

-the spork scene

-i like the scene where wall-e grabs the ship and is flying through the galaxy, showing the sun and the ice rings

-the scene with all the robots going HALT

-the scene where the rogue massage robot fucks up all of the sentries

-whenever somebody falls out of their hoverchair and their outfit reverts back to red

-by far my favorite scene in the movie is when eve and wall-e are flying around the outside of the ship after escaping the self-destructing escape pod, especially the part where they are flying around the ship engines and the purple flames and going on and off in the background

-any of the scenes with FOREIGN CONTAMINANT

-the scene where eve and wall-e go to the repair ward

-last but not least, the scene where eve repairs wall-e and he loses his memory briefly

This is a wait for the DVD movie for me, so I haven't seen it yet, but my reservations going in are worrying whether the movie gets too preachy. I hear enough about how we are destroying the planet, how bad consumerism is, how fat Americans are, etc., etc., etc. every day of my life. Thanks, I get it.

I had the same reservations about Over the Hedge but it didn't turn out to be that bad. I'm guessing Wall-E is about the same.

people have overanalyzed this movie to death. it was a good flick. beautiful animation, good story, and that's about all there is to it. it wasn't a movie to attack fat people and it wasn't a liberal doomsday scare. take it for what it is.

and not because it was preachy.

I just saw Wall-E today. There's no comparison with Over the Hedge. That movie was horrible. Wall-E is excellent.
