It's never good when you go to the pediatrician and they say, "Oh my! I need to go get my medical book!""

Hah- I did this when I was a kid [2nd grade, I think?]. (not entirely in half, just the end of it). ER guys were baffled & confused. I enabled them to experience something new that day-- the art of stitching a tongue back together My accident over Easter break would have been seriously gruesome I hadn't had on my padded leather motorcycle jacket... might've had organs out on the ground otherwise, I haven't seen anything actually happen to other people. lame.

personally, i havent sustained any serious injuries. never been back to the hospital since i was born. back when i was at school in raleigh, i worked at the jersey mikes off wake forest rd. one day, i was finishing up work and getting ready to take off. one last guy walked in, wanted a ham sandwich, which i proceeded to slice, along with the corner of the tip of my middle finger on my right hand (flesh only). it was totally my fuckup, finger just slipped off the butt end of the slimy-ass ham i was slicing. now i have a circular scar there.

when i was a little kid though, we lived at the end of a road at a T intersection. i remember one day some guy frantically knocking on the front door, and begging my dad to use the phone. he just had a head-on collision with a motorcycle at the intersection, and i dont think the motorcyclist made it. didnt get to see much, as i was a little kid and mom scooted us back into the house.

This was during a rugby game about two years ago I was playing in. I had the same view as the camera and was about 15 feet away. Notice the tacklee's (?, guy getting tackled) left ankle. It snapped so hard. The actual snap was incredibly loud, just sounded gross, his foot was basically hanging on by the skin. Really gross

A friend of mine when he was in college was driving somewhere around NCSU when a bum jumped in front of him...he thought he had killed him because he went on the hood, then on top of the car and then appeared to fall off the back; however, it turned out this particular bum does this a lot, and knows how to time in perfectly so he doesnt get killed...an ambulance was called but the bum was ok....

"DAMMIT SON YOU ALWAYS PULL OUT THIS EXCUSE BUT THE FACT OF THE MATTER IS THE FOLLOWING:

1. THEY WERE NOT THERE FOR YOU.
2. TO GET IN YOUR CAR REQUIRES YOU TO STAY IN ONE PLACE FOR A SIGNIFICANT PERIOD OF TIME, MAKING YOU A STATIONARY (EASY) TARGET. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE INTELLIGENT TO JUST RUN IF YOU WERE IN DANGER SON.
3. YOU STILL DROVE DRUNK AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE ELSE COMMITTED A CRIME DOESN'T MEAN THAT YOU AREN'T COMMITTING ONE TOO."

I find you always fucking with me about this funny Saab. You are the pussy that was going to go to the cops because I hurt your feelings on the internet. I can not imagine what you would have done in the situation I was in. Probably cried and pissed your pants. Soon after you might have tried to sue the killers or NC State or something.

1. WHEN SOME ONE HAS A GUN AND IS SHOOTING PEOPLE, YOU DO NOT THINK ABOUT WHO THEY ARE THERE FOR OR WHAT THEIR MOTIVE IS.
2. JUMPING INTO MY TRUCK AND DRIVING AWAY IS JUST AS DANGEROUS AS RUNNING. BUT AT LEAST WHEN I WAS AWAY I KNEW I WAS COMPLETELY AWAY. WHEN YOU HAVE SUCH EVENTS AS THE VT SHOOTING WHERE SOME ONE IS 'HUNTING' OTHER PEOPLE, RUNING WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT SPORT.
3. I AM NOT SAYING I DID NOT DRIVE DRUNK, I WOULD HAVE NOT DRIVEN IF SOMEONE WAS NOT SHOOTING OTHER PEOPLE. THE JUDGE AGREED WITH ME, SO BECAUSE OF THAT, I COMMITED NO CRIME ACCORDING TO THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA.

was riding in a truck with my brother driving on his birthday about midnight. going about sixty and went to pass this old couple, out of the darkness is black man wearing black shoes, camo pants dark jacket and a skull cap. pretty much invisible. hit him going about 65. i watched his head whip back and crumple the hood. his legs turned the bumper into a hoseshoe. knocked him out of his shoes and loosened his teeth. I know we hit him so hard he shit on himself. not just becuase of the smell, but because I saw it on his SOCKS. must have blown his asshole clear out of his ass..

homeslice went home the next fucking DAY

the blue bull malt liquour can he was carrying when we hit him was on the side of the road for YEARS. i think i am a believer now that drunk people are nearly invicible.

interesting note, the first thing my brother did when he repaired the truck was mount four inch tubular brush guard on the front of his truck.you could crash into a bridge support and not dammage that thing

My parents live on a curve with a posted speed limit of 35 mph. They also have those signs that have suggested speed of 35 mph there. It's one of the few in the area where those signs really should be followed. There were always accidents along there where people would fly through at 60 and end up either in the creek next to the house or across the road against some big ass oak trees.

One night my junior year about 1 am a girl I knew from school and some of her friends (who had all been drinking) took that curve WAY too fast. I heard the impact against those trees and called 911. Went out there and the 2 guys were injured but not terribly. They stayed in the car but said they weren't hurt too bad. The EMT's arrived pretty quickly and got them out of the car and stablized and were packing their shit to leave when somebody noticed some hair in the extremely crumpled up back seat. I knew the EMT's and was standing right there when they pried a seat away and we all saw the girl's brains. Her head was wide open.

The worst part is she wasn't quite dead. She was gurgling and moving slightly. It was horrible. They knew she was done for and went about extricating her from the car. She finally did die as they were getting her out of the car. From the car she went straight into a body bag. It was the worst thing I've ever seen, and I've seen some shit. I sometimes still have dreams about it. Made it worse being I kinda knew the girl.

Well if it's any consolation I did see and hear the car go by the house skidding sideways just before I heard the impact.

Sportsman division, stock car race in the 90s. drivers head was smeared off on the tri-oval wall. You could see the blood. that was my worst injury I witnessed. That was also the last race of that division at CMS

The worst I've seen have been on me...but that's really not that bad. I guess I'm lucky cause when it comes to gross injuries, especially bones I get a little blug blug.

Oh well now that I think of it, the worst I saw was one I caused when I was playing soccer in high school. I went in for a slide tackle at the same time the other girl had kinda lost her balance and stepped weird I guess, and my foot hit her ankle just perfectly enough to snap her ankle.

back in my highschool football days i was an outside linebacker.

our middle linebacker hits the guy with the ball and got him kind of low. broke his leg and the bone was sticking out. the guy still was trying to run for a second or two before he realized it.

i was running at him to help when i saw what happened.

i then went the other way. nasty shit

7th Grade: A guy on the wrestling team was grapling when he was thrown and landed on his wrist and it broke. It was yuck.

There is a curve right before you get to our house but it's not super-elevated at all (It's a flat curve), and there subgrade is poor and the asphalt is cracking on the right side of the right lane close to the ditch on our property line. See here:http://tinyurl.com/ce4644. There have been many wrecks in that ditch about 2 or 3 each year since I can remember.

The latest one the girl driver launched her car up the other side of the ditch and into that telephone pole. The current pole is a replacement for the other one that he tiny cay tore in two. She was pretty beat up.

The funniest one I can remember is when a girl was driving a van and rolled it into the ditch on an ant hill. Most of her hair was stuck in the door or sunroof or something and the ants were all on her but she wouldn't let the first responders cut her hair. She wanted them to cut the door or roof instead. So they were grapling and THEN he was thrown? I thought by the time you take it down to the ground, you just keep grapling until you win, that there was no back up motion from there.

NC 33 between Tarboro and Greenville is a fucking death trap. I drove it twice a day, every day for 8 months between Greenville and Rocky Mount. I've been run off the road multiple times on that God forsaken road, I have pulled people out of the ditch on that road because they have been run off the road. Between farm equipment, fast drivers, large trucks, and motherfucking Barnhill dump trucks, NC 33 is very dangerous. This doesn't even include the wildlife hazards out there. I usually had a near-accident situation once a week on that road. Oh, and when it's foggy and <300 yards visibility, it does not mean you should go damned 60 MPH.

This is in response to GraniteBall's post about a page back.

During one of my High School basketball games a player from the other team was on a fast break and I was running after him. He missed the lay up and I grabbed the rebound but when he landed it sounded like a tree branch snapping. The next thing I saw was his leg below his knee bend in half and his bone had ripped through his knee sock and was sticking out. The EMT's had to drug him up to get him to stop screaming, people were having to leave the gym because they were all getting grossed out.

^I think if someone dies at your wedding, the marriage is pretty much cursed from the start.

These are some seriously fucked-up stories. Makes me realize that I've never seen any sort of bad injury, at all, really. Kind of glad I haven't...I don't deal well with the sight of blood.
