The game was there for the winning by Inter, and specifically by Mr. Zlatan Ibrahimovic...all he had to do was score. He had two good opportunities to tie the game (and therefore take the lead) and should've buried one of them. A shame, really; he did not play like an elite striker. I would have expected better from Peter Crouch, in fact.

k watched it all..

if it werent for julio cesar for both legs, man utd wouldve scored at least 7 goals aggregate. a couple good chances from inter off the post but really seemed to come out of nowhere in play. inter never really looked like they wanted to win this and man utd won with dominance in possession.

yeah, unquestionably it is true that if Inter blew some chances, so did Man U
Man U was definitely the better side, but I would've liked to see what would've happened if Inter had tied it up with one of their chances sometime in the first half, and Man U were forced to press for that second goal

Inter wouldn't have given it up so tamely...Man U would probably still have found a goal and won, but it would've been bad ass to watch

I think Vidic might be my #2 Man U player of all time, behind Cantona.

i was texting amac earlier today and mentioned this, but i honestly think vidic should be a serious nomination for next FIFA WPOY, especially if man utd keep posting shut-outs like they have been and they make it to at least the finals of fa cup and champs league. early zlatan good form is gone plus he still has never scored in the knockout stages of the champs league. and the only player on consistent good form, that im hearing but really havent been able to see is messi....i mean if cannavaro can win one as a def, why shouldnt vidic? hes the main reason behind man utds crazy streak they just had...van der sar(i think i heard) made around 20 saves that whole >1000 hrs streak he had. so its not like van der sar is the defensive mastermind in this streak. im also pretty sure vidic played almost 100% of those games where all the players around him in defense were getting injured.

But yeah, he's already a (more likely) POY candidate in England, so I don't think it's too far off to see him getting WPOY, especially if United manage this quintuple everyone's talking about.

interesting idea...if United win the Champions League and beat Barcelona along the way, I suppose I can see it happening

although Cannavaro won when Ronaldinho and Zidane were both past their prime, and both had already won the award...Messi is just getting into his prime and has never won.

indeed it was...watching the highlights, though, I would expect better defending (on all the goals) from the champions of France

So much for the all-English semifinals. I love how Chelsea and Liverpool are "randomly" drawn to play each other EVERY YEAR.

Supposedly FSC outbid ESPN for rights to the Champions League starting in 2010-11.

I doubt it will be any different with FSC or any other network. They are going to show the teams that they think will have the most viewers here.

It's true, and it's the worst thing that could happen to soccer in the US.

FSC doesn't even have HD feeds, much less the infrastructure that ESPN does.

To make it worse, I can't imagine any of the shitty FSC commentators doing the UCL justice.

So you're a Tommy Smyth fan?

Other than Derek Rae, the ESPN guys aren't that much better than FSC. Who knows how they'll show the games... they do just fine with their Premier League coverage. The HD doesn't really bother me because I have yet to get an HD tv but I could see how that could annoy some people.

Who are some of the FSC commentators? All I really watch on there is Premier League matches which use the Sky Sports commentators, so I'm not really familiar with them.

tommy smyth doesnt do any commentating, he just says something funny/retarded every other minute. derek rae IS the voice im accustomed to for CL games. he does it with such professionalism that ill prob have to cry if i hear american retard max bretos even try to pronounce some guys name from shaktar donetsk or whoever might be playing in a group stage match and then listen to him for 5 minutes brag about how he spent all night learning the entire teams roster phonics...

ive got to imagine theyll have british announcers for the games, as long as they dont have that guy who does all the ac milan games on this channel....i hate that guys voice.
