F*** erbody you gotta love Herb. They're prolly gonna lose but you can never count this mofo out. His team was just losing by like 15 w/ 3 mins left and their effort is better than anything I've seen in a while anyway.

Too bad he has no gd plays to get his players open at the end of games, so they resort to shooting 3's from 8 feet beyond NBA range. 11/29/2008 2:50:16 AM |

the part that sucks the most is that if they would have won last night and today versus Wake, I have no doubt in my mind that they'd have been #8 or #9 in the new poll.
now, assuming they beat UTEP tonight, they'll be lucky to stay in the top-20
however, expect Baylor to move into the top-20
the end of that game last night was sick. i really hope some of you got a chance to see it. i'd love to read your comments 11/29/2008 8:48:20 AM |

I didn't even realize how well Harden did at the end till they showed his stats. 32 points and 9 boards I remember w/ like a minute left wtf? Dude is ridiculous. Did you see them hit NBA range 3's like 3 possessions in a row? Reminded me of crazy old Evtimov. 11/29/2008 11:32:06 AM |

he just dropped 40 on a UTEP team that beat St. Mary's and took Wake to the wire.

Harden didn't get aggressive until ASU was down by 16 (halway through the 2nd half). at which point he scored 24 or the team's next 26 points and cut it to a 4-point game with a minute to play
AND
Baylor hit NBA+ range threes at the worst possible times
--------------------------------------------------------------
to those who care: ASU has 15 more televised games (FSN, CBS-HD, ESPN-HD) including 8 in a row in Jan/Feb. so you'll have lots of opportunities to see James do his thing. he is currently #4 in the nation for both total points scored (162) and points per game (27.0) 12/1/2008 6:08:03 PM |

my guess is 2000 fans
it's really sad. imagine if State had an enrollment of 52,000, we were a top-20 team sitting on an 8-1 record and we were playing a 10-0 (soon to be ranked) BYU team in a football stadium just a few miles away from campus. we'd have tens of thousands in attendance.

he's gotta hate it though.
he took them from the laughing stock to a legit conference title contender in 2 1/2 seasons. he's bringing in McD's AAs, building a new practice facility, going to pep rallies and football games to encourage the students to come out.....and still they only had ~1000 fans at today's game
State could play Wake Tech in a down year and 10K would show up 12/15/2008 1:18:30 AM |

only if it's not in reynolds, lawl.
it's what he asked for, though, is it not? i mean i suppose his ideal situation would be thousands of fans that love him and his marginal teams year in and year out, but that's a little much to ask. 12/15/2008 2:12:45 AM |

Seriously?
If Herb Sendek is marginal, then there are only about 15 good coaches in the NCAA.

16 teams make the sweet 16 every year, which is the extent of herb's accomplishments as a coach, so there's at least 16 coaches as good as him. 12/15/2008 3:39:31 AM |
