Prior to each game, one Hurricanes fan will wind a “Hurricanes Warning Siren,” signifying that the team is about to take the ice. North Carolina Senator Elizabeth Dole will be the first Caniac to sound the siren on Friday night.

The Hurricane Warning Siren is an actual air raid siren, and it will be located near section 228, directly below the “Home of the Carolina Hurricanes” sign that adorns the upper bowl facade.

But Elizabeth Dole? Cmon. At least she has ties to the state (see: Sarah Palin and the Flyers).

I guess this is why she couldn't attend the debates. Had to prepare for the game.

I have recovered from being sick it seems and am ready to tailgate.

I'll probably try to slide out of work a little early then stop by the grocery store, so hopefully I can make it out there around 5 or a little after. Is there anything anybody wants me to pick up? Will bring my own food and beer, but if anybody else needs something just let me know.

Ok. first experience with FSN-South on Dish, and Im not getting the game. Getting BCS Breakdown followed by womens soccer. WTF...why are there multiple versions of one regional sports network?

^Dish doesnt have the regional fsn, get used to going to a bar to watch it. Wolf Creek used dish as their cable service last year, I didnt get to see a single fucking game on fsn all year. Thats one of the top 3 reasons Im not living there anymore.

Thanks for the info...yeah that was one of my big concerns when I switched to Dish was the RSN. I was told it shouldnt be an issue. Does this mean Im screwed when it comes to ACC basketball games as well?

Thankfully I have a QAM tuner in both my PC and TV, and have all the basic cable channels coming in since I still have Roadrunner.

The best part is I called Dish, and when they try to do all that bullshit smalltalk while they pull up information, the guy is like "The Carolina Hurricanes...now, is that a new team?"

not the greatest game, but not terrible

pitkanen definitely has moments where he's off in la-la land, that penalty was groan-worthy

sutter was a beast on the forecheck, and he's really hard to knock off the puck...he'll be nuts when he puts on some weight

nice to see cam fight his way back into the game, though the early goals weren't his fault...that kick save in the 2nd was crizzazy

the kill was less than inspiring, and david booth did whatever the fuck he wanted all night, but it's the first game and i can live with that

and as for the mission helmets, almost everyone who was in a bauer 4500 switched to mission because of cullen's repeated injuries in the rubatex bucket
