i didn't say they would decide to have an abortion. but unwanted pregnancies happen all the time. even in marriage. if your parents told you you were a "surprise"....that is what they meant. obviously in a committed relationship the choice to have a child is simpler than it otherwise would be. but it still isn't oversimplified. and it is still something people in relationships face all the time.

i can't believe you're seriously suggesting that men share no responsibility in the choice to use birth control or condoms. and that you are equating a male's shared responsibility in suggesting and acquiring birth control methods with the female's responsibility of carrying a child for 9 months. but besides that obvious fact, if you are so up to date on the abortion argument (both sides, i presume, because it is usually good to know both positions before making up one's mind or arguing about it) then you already know the other reasons put forward on this point. i'm not going to sit here and list them out. because your mind isn't going to be changed and neither is mine. but the burden of the shared responsibility in making a decision regarding safe sex, isn't nearly the same as the woman's sole burden of carrying a child.

You can find those stats in the CHASS computer labs. I forget the name of the program but it's the one they make you use in the BS polisci stat course (102 or whatever). I remember a girl in my class doing those sorts of stats for her final project. I don't remember what percent she had (and this was a long time ago so it's probably changed) but it's higher than you would think.
