I don't think sid understands the college game. In the NBA, giving the bench playing time early is much more important, but in college you have to play the starters comparatively more since they are still learning the game.

There is probably some truth to that. The offensive players 1-10 are so much more dynamic in the NBA that you do rest your best players 3/4 of the way through the game a lot. If you lose a little ground, that's OK because your Kobe's, Lebron's, Garnett's, etc will be fresh down the stretch...
