i wouldn't call their regular season a cakewalk....the PAC 10 has more talent than the ACC, imo

"I'm fucking sick of USC. There is nothing impressive about being able to buy all the best recruits in the country, keep them healthy with a cake walk of a regular season, then spend a month to prepare for their only tough game of the season."

That's just silly... They have played at VT, UVa, Auburn, Texas and next year Ohio State in the last 5 years... they will play anyone, anywhere and beat them.

You act like it's a SEC team or something with their OOC scheduling. Some SEC teams haven't left the southeast in over 25 years for an OOC game.

USC's prospects page looks like UNC's prospects page except that 4* recruits are replaced with 5* recruits. It's funny when UNC fans talk about being in a national championship game any time soon.

(NCSU looks like UNC with 4*s replaced with 3* recruits . Hopefully, we step it up in the future and turn a coaching advantage into a recruiting advantage. )

^^ I agree. I'd like to see more OOC matchups between good teams. However, they don't want to schedule it, because the way college football is now, 1 loss can knock you out of the title hunt...Might as well play an easier OOC team.

this year was pretty good the way the schedules matched up with some big teams...but most of it was Big-12 and SEC excitement

Oh boy, here come all the jealous fools crying about USC. You'd all sell your souls to have NC State be that good at anything.

This is just stupid. You can get hurt against bad teams just as easily as against good ones. Besides, their regular season isn't a cakewalk.

SC has pretty much the choice of any high school talent on the West Coast and occasionally some east coast talent.

I compare them to Duke in Basketball especially with their offensive talent, they are great college players but most of their offensive players are huge busts in the NFL (Under Pete Carroll), now on the defensive side of the ball they produce great NFL talents.

I always find it funny when people assume that teams can just create their own OOC schedule each year and play all the best teams.

These schedules are often created several years in advance, and there are tons of other logistics and such that come into play. It is easy to sit here and say, "Why doesn't USC just play Texas, Ohio St., VT, and Florida every year?" But it just doesn't work like that. I give USC credit for going out and having big games each year when some teams avoid it all the time. It also isn't their fault if teams like ND stink.

BTW : The Pac 10 is 4-0 in bowls, about to be 5-0 so maybe the conference isn't as bad as people think?

BLOWOUT. MATERIAL.

http://www.nationalchamps.net/NCAA/future_schedules/southerncal_future.htm

Weak so far because they have BC and 'Cuse lined up..

[Edited on January 1, 2009 at 8:05 PM. Reason : with ND they only get 2 OOC games a year to choose from w/ the 9 game Pac-10 schedule]

Brent Musberger and Herbstriet are USC cock munchers. Its like they couldn't wait for USC to take the lead so they could start slobbing USC's knob. It was so laughable in the 2nd half when they brought Keyshawn Johnson on and went into a 30min USC recruiting advertisement.

I find it funny that Carroll and all the coaches get a lot of credit for good recruiting. What could be so enticing about a school in southern Cal. with a storied history, great facilities, and lots of hot wimmenz?

For some reason, I don't mind when VT wins. I really wasn't rooting for any other ACC team other than NCSU.

Virginia Tech is my next favorite ACC school after us....we share a lot in common. Their fans are pretty cool too. I've been to games there and they are very similar to us in athletics and academics.

Reasons to hate VT (in order)

1. Corey "Welcome to the Terror Dome" Moore
2. Mike Vick
3. Marcus Vick
4. Always seem to be overrated
5. Jim "Steroids" Druckenmiller

I'm with you. I don't care about proving a point about conference strength either. Unlike the douchebags who sat a few rows up from me at the pizza bowl talking shit about how the SEC is better than the ACC. No one gives a fuck except for those people.

you can say that all you want, but the last two coaches at usc went 76-63-4 combined. that program didn't turned itself into what it is right now, pete carroll did.

and a "you were right about the Big12 shitty defenses"

I mean, yeah, I understand how the BCS works. Just saying that no one cared what the local Alabama yokels had to say about the ACC at the goddamn papajohns.com bowl.

I have more loyalty to NC teams than ACC teams (except for UNC and ECU, of course). If Clemson was playing App St. for example, I dont give a shit about how they are in the ACC. Fuck Clemson.

That ECU review was pretty close. Looked to me like he felt his knee hit the ground and he dropped the ball so he could break his fall better.
