and dont you work at JackPot? are you a band manager, a proven song writer, a successful producer?
do you make a living at making music or writing music reviews that actually influence anything?

at least jstpack was writing music reviews and i know his taste in music is really really good but he doesnt come off as pretentious music snob in every post ... (just half of them )

i love some of DMBs old stuff a lot. i mean a whole fucking lot. i dont listen to any of his new stuff at all.

and you share this problem way too much with the rest of us that really dont care to read all of it.

^ the comment you quoted was directed at parksnrec, not jstpack

and while i'm not currently managing a band or writing reviews for money, i've done both in the past

Oh, I'm definitely a music snob. I came to grips with that years ago.

Honestly I feel much like vinylbandit when it comes to music for appreciation vs. for a drunk fest. Don't get me wrong, both can be a good time, as long as you're upfront about the type of experience you're going for and what you're going to get out of it.

But, when the OP immediately lists off Buffet and Kenny fucking Chesney while bitching about service fees at large corporate sponsored venues, I couldn't help but join in the fun.

I was really disappointed when "Don't Drink the Water" was the first single off of Before These Crowded Streets because that song blows, but the rest of the album turned out to be good. I'm hoping this turns out to be a similar situation.

I doubt it will

did you see that clip of the fans who got a preview of the album? The song sounded like the same bullshit off Stand Up

yeah, I didn't think there was enough in that clip to really judge the song, but I won't be very surprisd if this album is just another rehash of the Everyday/Stand Up crap.

Dave's face when they all started dancing was pretty funny though

like "these fucking losers will like whatever we put out, good thing we aren't trying any more"

LOL

Listened to it again, percussion and violin parts seem strong, the shit parts are Dave's lyrics and the guitar playing.

really? I love that song.

the new single is solid I think. It's not great and it could definitely be worse. There are some jamtastic parts (specifically carter).

I went to DMB last summer. I really like his old stuff and was hoping for a good show.

I was on the lawn; this was my first mistake. I hate potheads. I hate rednecks. I hate hippies. The lawn was full of them. I couldnt see the band 90% of the time, nor could I really hear it very well either.

I guess GOING to a DMB concert isnt the thing to do if you want to HEAR DMB music. If I ever went again, which is doubtful, I would defnitely get whatever the roped off seating was.

Then again I like DMB (granted olders stuff more), Kenny Chesney, and others so I must just be brainwashed too

I would kill to go to an Our Lady Peace concert. I wonder what bracket that puts me in. Snobs want to categorize me please?

p.s. fallout boy is god awful

anyone else go last night? i got a lot more drunk than i planned on/should have...i was in section 1 as well. i didn't think it was that great of a show. maybe it was the lack of focus from the beer but the band just didn't seem to be into it.

yeah i was there weds night on the lawn. it was my first show, but i really enjoyed it. Two Step was just phenomenal. my girlfriend had been to about 6 shows and she said this one was one of the best she'd seen, so i took that to mean it was a good show. \

that drummer is awesome. everytime the camera was on him, he was smiling and having a good time, and that's what i like to see. and i guess i never realized just what kinda range and voice DM really has. he sounded really good. i'll definitely be seeing DMB in the future.

A+++ would see again.

not to detract from leroi cause he's the man, but the new sax player was insane last night. the new songs they played were pretty good, just different, which isnt a bad thing. the stairway to heaven solo/verse during the watchtower encore was ridiculous. i couldnt believe my ears
