that teeter is for chumps
6/4/2009 12:46:22 PM
what the hell do you need confirmation for? What am I some underconver Harris Teeter spy trying to get people to buy shit from the store? They change over their sales every wed. which is why it wouldn't have been 6.99 on tuesday.
6/4/2009 12:46:43 PM
maybeDo you remember how much the 12pks were?[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 12:56 PM. Reason : .]

6/4/2009 1:08:04 PM
Haha I don't know you, you might have been fucking with me. I'm kinda pissed I just spent $2.00 more for the same beer. I think I'm gonna run to HT and stock up for the weekend.
6/4/2009 1:15:45 PM
It's gonna be a fun weekend!Fat Tire is the only one I've tried.[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 2:44 PM. Reason : BIGGAR]
6/4/2009 2:44:14 PM
i have had one other than fat tire. it was either the wit or the 1554. it was decent.[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 2:46 PM. Reason : k]
6/4/2009 2:46:15 PM
I had Fat Tire @ Amore's
6/4/2009 2:46:49 PM
i wonder if 1554 is like 1664....
6/4/2009 2:47:18 PM
you guys haven't had Fat Tire? interesting....been round these parts for years.....
6/4/2009 3:10:19 PM
It just showed up in NC this spring. All of the New Belgium 6-packs are $6.99 at all of the area Teeters currently, not just CV. Also, to answer a question asked a couple of months ago, you can get Sweetwater Blue & 420 around here now also. Saw it (and bought some of the blue for that matter, which was good, not as in your face as some blueberry ones I've tried) at the Teeter at 54 & Fayetteville in Durham.
6/4/2009 3:33:15 PM
just picked up some 6.99 sixpacks of fat tire at the Teeterthanks for the heads up
6/4/2009 3:44:47 PM
what style is "skinny dip"i've had the other 3 kinds (I'm b/w fat tire and mother ship as my favorite)[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 4:06 PM. Reason : s]
6/4/2009 3:50:01 PM
Belgian ale, only 4.2%, I'm guessing lower calories too.seasonal[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 4:12 PM. Reason : seasonal]
6/4/2009 4:12:19 PM
i love belgian ale. i'll have to try that while it's in season. at 4.2%, it seems weak for that style though.
6/4/2009 4:15:26 PM
thats one of the few things we do not have in common... an affinity for Belgian beer ...
6/4/2009 4:17:20 PM
6/4/2009 4:19:51 PM
6/4/2009 4:23:19 PM
that makes sense. maybe i'm just used to see doubles. yummmmm.i think my least favorite beer style would be wheat beers. i love IPAs, brown ales, stouts, and while i enjoy a wheat beer every now and then, they just don't do it for me for the most part.
6/4/2009 4:26:25 PM
I love some Hacker-Pschorr weiss.
6/4/2009 4:32:13 PM
i just don't like a weak hoppy beer- I could deal with a high abv IPA (like 90 minute or 120 minute), but stuff like CPA and Sierra Nevada just aren't my "cup of beer" - not to say i wouldn't drink it
6/4/2009 4:34:22 PM
i hear ya.90 minute is awesome. Avery IPA is probably one of my favorite IPAs and also one of my favorite beers.Bell's Two Hearted Ale is also fantastic.[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 4:38 PM. Reason : k]
6/4/2009 4:36:54 PM
Avery loves their hops (they pride themselves on how much they use)I went to a private beer tasting they offered a year or two back, and it was awesome... they even brought some stuff that is illegal here in NCi would say I liked everything they brought, with the exception of one of their things (and it wasn't because of the hops if i remember correctly)that tasting gave me one of the worst hangovers i've ever had before though
6/4/2009 4:41:01 PM
6/4/2009 4:42:03 PM
^^ off the top of my head, i can't think of an Avery beer that i don't like.^ awesome. i'll have to give that a try.
6/4/2009 4:43:10 PM
I wish i still had my taste sheet they gave us (a guide to all the beers)they also had one of the owners/head brewers come out (the son), and he was really cool, and took the time to explain alot of shit to us
6/4/2009 4:44:50 PM
this thread has made me want beer quite badly. i think i'm going to make a trip to total wine.
6/4/2009 4:47:39 PM
So I just stopped by Total Wine to pick up some beer and all the New Belgium beers are 6.99 there as well. They don't usually have "sales" there so that leads me to believe that 6.99 might be the price point they're trying to sell it at.Also, "Belgian Ale" is not a style. There are a wide variety of beers that fit under the "Belgian Ale" heading. Skinny Dip is brewed at least partially with wheat and Beeradvocate.com has it listed as an American Blonde Ale. I picked up a 6pack, and did not like it at all.
6/4/2009 4:48:54 PM
6/4/2009 4:50:47 PM
I just picked up the last 6-pack HT @ Tryon Village had in the cooler. I'll give it a shot in a little while.
6/4/2009 5:04:01 PM
6/4/2009 5:06:57 PM
6/4/2009 5:11:50 PM
i only like IPA's that are high in alcohol (they are rated as usually medium in alcohol)- there are always exceptions though... the "western" style have use unique hops and varying amounts which can give a different taste (leading to a more golden, less hoppy taste), and I like several of thosepale ales are the same (unless they go lighter on the hops), but they are typically too light on the alcohol
6/4/2009 5:36:49 PM
Had 1554 Enlightened Black Ale at the saucer earlier this week, was good stuffI don't think I've had a New Belgium that I didn't like
6/4/2009 5:43:18 PM
^^ cool, you just seemed to contradict yourself by saying you didn't like IPAs then listing a few pale ales -- but as long as you know what you like...and if by 'western' style you mean west coast, i'd disagree that they taste 'less hoppy' -- i think their hoppiness is a pretty defining characteristic of the west coast style IPAsi'm a huge hophead though, and mostly drink double IPAs (and don't have a lot of exposure to IPAs outside of california + avery to compare to)
6/4/2009 6:06:11 PM
they are definitely distinct and there, but they don't give me as much of the bitter beer face as othersand avery is definately a good standard to go by- I wish I had gotten some of the last batch of their salvation (an example of a pale ale I love)
6/4/2009 6:18:04 PM
has anyone seen Sweetwater available in Cary?
6/4/2009 6:38:31 PM
their IPA (420) is one I'm still on the fence about - i've had it a couple times, once liking it alot, and the other not being too impressed by it... I'd be interested to find it around here again
6/4/2009 6:43:27 PM
420 is their pale ale
6/4/2009 6:47:15 PM
420 is their flagship and is definitely tasty.I like this skinny dip
6/4/2009 7:00:44 PM
6/4/2009 7:11:03 PM
I don't claim to understand the innerworkings of brewing processes and hop content, but 420 is extra pale and they already market an IPA. I think he's correct.
6/4/2009 7:13:38 PM
but again, if anyone can find this or any other sweetwater around here, please share!i have only had it in Raleigh during the beerfest[Edited on June 4, 2009 at 7:18 PM. Reason : d]
6/4/2009 7:18:25 PM
thanks to this thread i just came back from the store with a ton of beer. total wine has new belgium beers for 8.99 still, but i did get a 6er of fat tire, 1554, and skinny dip at the harris teeter off tryon for 6.99. i also got Terrapin brown ale (never had it) and Avery IPA.^ Ruckus has 420 on tap! WIN!![Edited on June 4, 2009 at 7:18 PM. Reason : k]
6/4/2009 7:18:32 PM
i wonder if the total wine at north hills has it on special
6/4/2009 7:19:36 PM
i was disappointed in total wine in crossroads this trip. they re-did everything and i couldn't find anything. they don't have many single bottles anymore, and their prices were a few dollars more expensive than whole foods. i was
6/4/2009 7:20:52 PM
interesting to hear about 420 at ruckus- my friend just started working there, so I'm gonna be coming up there more often. this is just more incentive
6/4/2009 7:25:39 PM
i spend way too much time there.
6/4/2009 7:26:14 PM
do they have any new belgium stuff up there? i go to bada alot, and they have fat tire down there
6/4/2009 7:27:10 PM
