4I just want to point out that Boone made bars go smoke-free last year, but then let them go back to allowing smoking when the revenue bottomed out.]

the government isnt tolerant of my lifestyle choicefags can get married, its their right, but i cant allow smoking at my bar]
5/14/2009 10:30:39 AM
woah woah woah woahsmokers oughta be courteous enough to go smoke outside?i'm sorry, but back when i smoked, the whole appeal of a bar was that i could go smoke inside. seriously, going to a bar you know is going to be smoky and bitching about it is like going to an indian place and bitching because it reeks of curry.
5/14/2009 10:38:44 AM
When the State government sees Cig Tax revenue plummet they will reverse this....I hope. I dont even smoke anymore and I think this is a horrible idea.
5/14/2009 10:39:22 AM
You can still smoke on decks and patios at bars tho, right?
5/14/2009 10:42:11 AM
I think you'll see a combination of the following:- bars that go completely smoke-free- bars that become private clubs, charge you a $0.50 cover on your tab or something, and allow smoking- bars that ban smoking until maybe 10pm or 11pm, then allow smoking^I would assume so]
5/14/2009 10:42:15 AM
since i quit, the smell of cigarette smoke makes me .but, allah be praised, i have sense enough to not go to smoky bars without being ready for the consequences.
5/14/2009 10:42:45 AM
actually going in a bar and complaining about the smell of alcohol is the same thing as going in an indian restaurant and complaining about the smell of curry.since curry is what restaurants sell. bars don't sell cigarettes.a better comparison would be smoke:bar... and... well... smoke:indian restaurant
5/14/2009 10:44:30 AM
I bet there will be a "strange odor" in bars that you didn't notice before.

^^^^ but, allah (shit be upon him), I have sense enough to vote people into power that will take care of this shit so that I don't have to smell that shit every time I want to have a drink.I don't give a fuck if you don't like it. I love it.[Edited on May 14, 2009 at 10:46 AM. Reason : *]

curry has a strong smell. they sell curry. i didn't say it was the only thing they sold.I don't smoke. so if they have cigs packed away somewhere for people then i didn't know. definitely not displayed or anything.

does the smell of curry make you sick? probably not. but if it did, would you go to an indian plac. i would hope not. and if you did anyhow, then what the fuck is wrong with you?if bars thought they would pull in more revenue by being nonsmoking, i promise you that they would have banned it a long time ago.

ah, go figure. I never see them and i'm normally pretty good about looking behind bars and such.
5/14/2009 10:57:31 AM
good i can go out now and not come back smelling like smokethis is a victory for us all
5/14/2009 10:58:14 AM
until your favorite bars start closing/become provate clubs so they can continue to allow smokingthen it's not much of a victory
5/14/2009 11:00:18 AM
shit, where can I get some of those Death brand cigarettes?
5/14/2009 11:00:35 AM
People that claim to smell smoke after walking past smokers are typically over reacting. Its a mental thing. One more thing for them to complain about.
5/14/2009 11:01:16 AM
there already are "non-smoking" bars.if it was that big of a deal in the first place, most of you that are praising the gubment would have already been actively seeking out said "non-smoking" bars and patronizing them.from what i can gather from this thread, you don't want to be inconvenienced so you go to a bar that allows smoking, and then complain about the smoking.and you call the smokers whiners

i live in maryland and we just went through a state wide smoking ban a couple years ago. everyone made a big deal about it (just like this thread) before it went into effect but the transition was very smooth and easy. now, its just normal to go outside and smoke it you want to, and no one thinks twice about it. business was not impacted. north carolina won't be any different.[Edited on May 14, 2009 at 11:25 AM.
