Just watching this match it's been "when will Roddick choke?" Federer is dominating on serve right now.

Not to diminish all of Fed's accomplishments, he'll probably go down as the best player ever, but one can only think what would have happened this year had Nadal been healthy the last two majors.

Sucks, but he had a chance to win in the 2nd set.

Should have taken advantage of it.

It's really too bad Roddick has had to play in the Federer era. He'd have a good half dozen majors by now otherwise.

At least Roddick played Federer tough today. His service game and forehand were huge as usual but his backhand, mobility, and composure were much improved throughout the tournament. He did seem to lose concentration in that last game though with 4 or 5 unforced errors.

^^that's not a new ad.

Roddick blew it when he got up 15-40 and let Federer score 4 straight points in a row.

I kind of give him a pass because English isn't his first language, but he did come off as kind of a dick.

I mean come on... you had 6 Wimbledon titles before you lost to Nadal last year. You know NOTHING about what it feels like to be the runner-up for the third time to the same guy and to have never won one...

it's almost impossible for him to be humble at this point, with all he's accomplished. it would come off as patronizing more than anything else. especially being put right on the spot. i'm sure he'll be able to articulate his feelings a little better in a proper post match press conference.

^What did Roddick say about Federer? It sounded like he said, "YOU WON 6!" He looked like he wanted to kick his ass after that.

To me this match says more about Andy than it does Feds. I really expected a three-setter coasting to the win just like the matches that brought him (Roger) to this point. Andy, however, has busted his ass to be more than just a serve. Hell, watch the Murray match again and you will see that Roddick employed all kinds of tricks that he wouldn't do before. If Andy can maintain this level of performance then he will be right back in the thick of things will likely win another, if not multiple, Slams.

why is everyone making such a big deal about sampras etc. making the trip? i doubt they paid for it, first of all. and what the fuck else do these old retired bastards have to do anyway?

i agree that it's no big deal for them to all be there, i thought they were always at the grand slams anyway, at least Borg usually

but i dont think it's a big economical burden for them to pay their own plane ticket out there, but who knows maybe they just have a million skymiles

it's gotta be awesome to be able to "cold call" a model via your agent and then end up marrying her. Even better to be sponsored by la coste. I am pretty jealous of Andy even if he lost. If anyone went to Butler and went to school with her yall were lucky.
