see, i don't know if i could deal with that constantly... I have several friends who have done the match.com (and other sites) and heard some of the horror stories that have arisen. Although I do know at least 2 people who have found real deal marriage material from it,I just don't think I could deal with all the BS that comes along with it

oh i didnt realize u were on match. I'm on there too.

Sorry ur meeting clingy dudes. Ya if a girl said that to me on second date i'd be a little worried too. Truthfully the dude sounds like he's just really insecure with himself.

Fortunately, though, I can vouch there are some good guys on there....at least me anyways

Also, if I were u, I'd probably slow down on the # of dates and be a little more picky with who u meet. I think you have a much better chance of finding someone you can really connect with that way.

Last year I kinda went with teh shotgun approach adn went out with several girls. In a way it was kinda fun cause I don't date that much so that was cool, but looking back on it I really wasted a lot of time meeting women i really had no interest in.

This year I've slowed down a bit and don't really email anyone unless I think i'd actually like them. I've met 2 girls this year. The first date I went on she and I clicked within the first five minutes and we dated for 3 weeks with literally zero problems. Then I had to leave for vacation for 3 weeks and we basically agreed to just stay friends and see how things were when I came back. When i got back she was seeing someone else, so I was a little disappointed, but we stayed friends, and she recently stopped seeing the guy cause he was a douche (of course) and I think we might give it a try again...at least i hope

Second girl i met was last thursday. By far she was the hottest girl I've ever gone out on a date with. That includes my junior year crush in high school, tarren, who really just went out with me to be nice. Anyways, that date went really well and we're gonna go out again. She was a very nice girl.

So ya. I've only gone out on 2 dates this year but it's also been 100% success rate and I've liked both girls and they liked me. Hmm I wonder which one I'll be choosing? hehe

Also, I recommend first date always be just drinks. Just go and meet the guy and don't do dinner or any other kinda date, just meet for drinks. It's MUCH easier that way especially if he sucks, u can just bail. And if you both connect, then u can always do dinner or something else later

and of course, any dude that is asking u to be exclusive on the second date is obv a weirdo, lol

happy hunting

^ Could be fun. But a free trip to Colorado is never really "free". You will pay in boo-tay.

Another piece of pure gold:

Quote :
"
hi how u doing, my name is mike and i think we have lots in common and could possibly hit it off. i have no photo cuz my comp is broke, im using my roomates if u could send me your email ill like to send you a pic of me to your email. i look forward to hear from you.
"

And I'm definitely being picky. I'm getting probably 15 emails per day, with one really, really good one each day. The one tomorrow and the next day are really solid guys. And I know one of them in IRL. We're doing a pool and vino date. But I have known him for several months, so no worries.

My roomie did the shotgun approach. And now she's moving in with her top match after 4 months of dating.

All the emails I ever send to girls are literally

"you look cute" followed by a simple question that's something I read in the profile. It's all you need. In fact, any girl that emails me first with a long introduction I have never replied to. Just not my thing.

the one line 'hey whats up' style email is the best by far. Never introduce urself, that's why u write a fucking profile

^^^^ I disregard all "you're cute" emails. But I'm not a 10, so it's not like I really get many emails like that anyway.

Most guys email me bc they think my ad is funny. My username is "MyrtleMaude" (thx Myrtle) and here's my intro:

I've gotten a lot of interest from funny guys. Gotta weed out the ones who can't take a joke.

How long have you been in ORL? I lived there for a 1.5 years from 2005-2007.

Interesting is a good way to describe the dating scene in that city. Lot's of good partying to be had there though.

^^ Moved to O-Town in 2006. Moved to the Cape in 2007 (live-in boyfriend). Moved back here at the beginning of this year.

I love my job, but Orlando is very transient. The result? A schizo dating scene but an entertaining party scene.

^ Walken in the Fatboy Slim vid. That's what I want. Now. Youtube it. And I'm in NC on a regular basis thanks to fam.

i dont think its that bad. I'm not saying anythign like 'whoa ur hot lets bang', but truthfully if all i have is a few pics and a description, that's all i can go with. Also I think it's being honest and complimenting.

and lol ur a cute girl, i probably would've said hello if i were living in orlando

yeah commenting on how cute the chick is based on a picture that she put up on the net should definitely be considered a compliment.

if you didn't comment, some chicks might think you DIDN'T think their pic was cute.

^^^ Ah reckon.

^^ And I've heard the same sentiment from several men. Pics don't match reality. I haven't experienced that yet, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.

^ I assume that if they want to date me, then they must like the pics a little.

so I guess you HAVE to put up a pic on that site?

of course pics don't match reality, but if the girl is the one picking the picture to post, they normally think that is a good picture of them. SO, on a site like that, where you have little to go on other than the pic, it's pretty much common courtesy to say something positive about the pic.

^some guys (not me because I'm so gorgeous), will see the picture of a super hot chick and not even try because they assume she's out of their league. just human nature.

it's amazing how many chicks put horrible picts of themselves on the site. seems like some sort of self-defeating personality trait, which is even less attractive than the bad picture.

and i'd much rather have a picture of a girl that is less attractive than what she is in real life.

very first girl i met was easily 40lbs more than her pics she put up. It's deceitful and dishonest. All my pics are current and look like me. As i get new pics, i update and delete older pics.

Seeing as how I went on a Match date last night...

I wore a polo and jeans; she wore a halter top and a long skirt. Went for dessert, then drinks, the mini-golf (though our goal was bumper cars), then back to her place.

As far as winking goes, if I think a girl is attractive, I always respond to winks. Then again, I've got a thing for women who are relatively assertive, so that makes sense. I never wink though.

good question. I've had people tell me to call cause it sounds more confident, but i usually text and things work out just fine. I say text, that way u dont have to worry if she doesnt answer and u wonder what ur gonna say in a message or even leave one at all. Text is just easier and they can get back to u when they want/can

After my first date on thursday i pulled this line instead of asking for a second date

"Tell you what ill text u when i'm home to let u know, and if u wanna go out on a second date, just text me back. If not, that's totally cool and it was great meeting you "

i texted her when i got home, she texted me back like 1 minute later.

I'm probably gonna text her tomorrow and ask her to dinner sometime later this week
