NCSU:35 Murray State: 10
We will have 1 or 2 defensive TD's and a lackluster performance on O all things considered. I am hoping for the best. GO PACK.

Quote : | "N.C. State starting left offensive tackle Jake Vermiglio, who injured his left calf in the Sept. 3 opener, will miss Saturday's game against Murray State because of the injury.
The school released its injury report Thursday evening and announced that running back Jamelle Eugene (knee), cornerback DeAndre Morgan (ankle) and defensive end Jeff Rieskamp also won't play Saturday.
Julian Williams, who started the opener at left guard, will move to left tackle in Vermiglio's place. Andy Barbee will start at left guard, and Henry Lawson will be the backup center in place of Wayne Crawford, who's out with a foot injury.
C.J. Wilson remains the starter at field cornerback, where Morgan started last season. Freshman James Washington will be the second-team running back, filling Eugene's position behind Toney Baker." |

until they get specific about vermiglio and eugene, i'm accepting the IR's as "they're a little hurt so we're going to keep them out for these early games so they'll be good to go for conference play"... then again, i cheer for State, therefore i hope

I was sitting in the NEZ very close to where that took place. I don't remember why, but they hardly reviewed the play at all. Maybe it was one season before they implemented instant replay in cfb. Not sure.

They had implemented instant replay and coaches challenges because Amato had called a timeout earlier to challenge a play that was upheld. I remember that we didn't have any timeouts left to challenge the play and the booth didn't review it either. 9/11/2009 7:02:11 AM |

what i don't understand is why a play so crucial to the outcome of the game wasn't reviewed, just to make sure they got it right. 9/11/2009 9:48:36 AM |

CFN's take: http://cfn.scout.com/2/897359.html
Quote : | "What will happen: While many schools across the country got a breather in the opener, NC State had to wait an extra week. It comes at an ideal time for the program. Without having to contend with the speed and athleticism of an SEC opponent, the Pack will execute far better than a week ago, getting all of its offensive parts involved in the gameplan. Wilson will flip a couple of touchdown passes, looking more like the player, who was named All-ACC first team in 2008. CFN Prediction: NC State 34 ... Murray State 13" |

^Hard to put much stock in it though, considering the fact that they didn't do the most basic of homework by looking at the injury report.
Quote : | "Why NC State might win: ... The Pack will soften the Racer D with backs Jamelle Eugene and Toney Baker, giving Wilson better looks when he drops back to locate WR Owen Spencer and TE George Bryan. " |

^^So, what's the ¿dance team? chick on the far left looking at? Looks like she's checking to see whether the field goal is good.
Plus, as much as I hate to admit it, it would be kinda interesting to see a picture taken from the same angle a half second later.

It was ridiculous that play was never reviewed, but truth is, he got in...or at least, it wouldnt have been obvious enough that he didnt to overturn it.
And yeah, replay started in 04 I believe...I remember thinking if only we had it one year earlier during the Ohio State game, when my 90-year-old grandma could tell that was a trap, not an interception. 9/11/2009 1:30:00 PM |

you want the motherfucker to be lookin at his shoulder? Check out any WR's eyes when they are catching a pass.....the ball moves so fast once it gets to right in front of you, theres no more movement to follow it. Also, he should use his hands.....that would keep the ball from clanking off his fuckin shoulder pads 9/11/2009 11:56:43 PM |
