^^ kids at school are going to take your kid's lunch money

and you'll be incredibly pissed

not because your kid got picked on, or robbed

but because they took your last motherfucking dollar

no, because the lifestyle i want would not be an option if i had children

I'm an only child and super selfish. why would I want to spend time and money on some crazy offspring when I could buy shit for myself? (or save money for boats, toys and retirement)

Sure. It will depend on the situation and timing and not revolve around my "want". I wont make it happen if things are not right.

I am enough of an ectomorph to counter balance even the strongest fat genes.

I don't plan to, but, hey, accidents happen.

Then again, that's why Jesus invented a-bombs.

I'd like one boy and one girl, but I'll take two of anything. I can't imagine having three kids.

Repeating it for page 4, because it is an important life lesson:

Quote :
"Don't believe any woman who says she doesn't want kids. They lie. They will tell you that they don't, and they may even believe it themselves at the time. But their words will be laid bare for the hollow, shamefaced lies they are in due time."

-GrumpyGOP's dad.

Life lessons along that line which were provided to me:

Younger bro: "Grumpy, you ruined my life!"
Me: "Well, I was born first, so technically you ruined my life."
Dad: "Shut the hell up. You both ruined my life."

When we were young, in lieu of any birds and bees shit, dad also told us that we were found at the landfill covered in rats and seagulls, and mom pitched a fit until he would let her keep us.

You can see how, over time, it was all a progression towards "women are liars when it comes to kids."

I don't think whether or not I want to is relevant--there's no way the gf could give up caffeine for 9 months. The coffee and diet coke addictions are too strong.

Srsly though, when I was single I wanted nothing to do with the idea. Now, it seems like it could be a good thing--but maximum 2 if so, and only if my financial situation permits. Maybe only 1 (I'm an only child, don't think I turned out malajusted or anything). Because, honestly, any more would be too much of a financial struggle for me to be able to give them the opportunities they deserve. Hell, the way it's going right now, I don't think I could afford even 1, it's enough trouble to keep my own damn head above water.

Its called denial - you can't turn off 2000 years of evolution just because you watched sex and the city.

^ Sex and the City has little to do with why women aren't making babies. I think Sex and the City makes women more inclined to sleep around, thus increasing the odds that they WILL make babies.

lucy

i think i read in this here thread that you werent the marryin type and didnt wanna have kids...if thats the case, you should go donate some ova (is that plural of ovum?) .

i think i read its a little rough, but probably worth it to you in the form of cash and less weight to carry around and to society by increasing the likelihood of another one of you runnin around eventually

^^^^^^ I don't know that the compensation associated with egg donation is worth the time. There are much easier ways to make $5k to $10k. And I'd be closer to the $5k side, because the only things that would make me stand out as a decent donor candidate are my SAT score and college GPA. You make more if you have extremely distinctive features, like blue eyes and blonde hair, or if you have a pure ethnic background.

Trust me, I've looked into this.

It's an innate drive that is VERY easily controlled. Just like the drive to eat.

You know your ass is gonna get fat if you eat too much, so you control the desire to eat.

You know kids would fuck up your plans, so you decide not to have them. Maybe you babysit other people's spawn instead if you have the baby fever bad. Simple. Some women have little to no drive to reproduce, and it doesn't change throughout their life. It is not denial, it is having a slightly different hormonal balance than normal that just makes it easier to not want kids.

I'm amazed at how many women view the ability to give birth as a curse, instead of a blessing. Honestly, if I was a woman, I couldn't imagine living my entire life without the experience of having a child. Then again, that's awfully easy for me to say, lulz.

I wouldn't mind having a kid so much if I had a husband who really wanted a child. Since I probably won't get married, there's very little chance that I'd have a kid.

Also, childbirth is very scary for some women. I mean, I've definitely heard horror stories about being split hole-to-hole. Or being forced to take bed rest for three months prior to delivery.

I think the whole childbearing/circle of life/whatever you want to call it is really amazing and I like having that capability.

It's also totally gross and not for me.

I just keep replaying the birthing scene from The Fly in my head.
