you're right...and i'm not really blaming the ref. just in general jones got screwed by the situation (which could have been avoided if he had not delivered illegal elbows). it was kinda funny seeing the winner of the fight with his face all beat up and his shoulder dislocated and the loser without a scratch on him.

oh well, i expect this loss will still move jones up the totem poll or at least keep him where he was before the fight.

Technically, Penn may be the better fighter, but Sanchez is fucking nuts in the ring. I don't know how you could confidently bet against the guy. He will probably have the strength/weight advantage over BJ and his energy is hard to compete with.

One thing is for sure, you aren't gonna see Sanchez pussyfoot around the ring for five rounds like Anderson Silva's recent opponents have done.

there is no real "lesson" there at all. perhaps "dont make oddball rules banning legitimate blows legal everywhere else on earth"

Anyone else watch the fight Saturday?

BJ looked damn good. I was surprised Diego couldn't take him down at least once. Is there anyone at lightweight that can hang with him?

As expected, Mir tooled on Kongo and Guida got KTFO by Florian. I love guida's crazy eyes, but I would rather see him fight mid-range guys than the lightweight elite because he just isn't on that level.

I flew to Memphis to go watch it. Congo got choked the fuck out and stayed down for a while after the fight was over. Bj Penn owned the he'll out of sanchez. I expected a little more from sanchez especially after it was obvious that the take down wasn't gonna work
