"I've said it twice, but why was the book getting to the destination so important as to require divine intervention?"

You must have missed it when Mr. Linderman said "we're compiling all this history to be used when we start over" or something like that. That was probably the government or future government and they were going to spread all the information when they started civilization again.

Even though the people don't have religious agendas, God wants his word to be spreaded with free will so now everyone in the future will have a choice between no religion, quoran, torah ,and kjb "theres always a choice"

"like say that she found he place, or that she was going to go home... but not make her look all badass and Denzel Part Deux when they never really gave the indication that she trained her or anything. It was laughable when the rest of the movie was really pretty good.
"

you completely missed the part where he prayed for "his new friend and that you may guide her the same way you've guided me"

fitting ending. Its easy to assume she has the same badass qualities he had going forward for the next movie

""when did she go from whinny tag along to bad ass?"
loved that they showed the torah, qu'ron etc. in the finals scenes"

shes going back to rescue her mother and will likely lead all the people from that town now that its in anarchy

I really wanted to just ignore this last quote but it was just too bad.

"A good example of something that I couldn't overlook in a movie was the water vs aliens in Signs. Yes it was an alien movie, but if you are going to set the movie in our world, the entire crux of the movie shouldn't be based on something that totally defies science given the amount of water in our atmosphere and air.
"

It was liquid water that killed them. Gas water is what is mostly in our atmosphere. It wouldn't be hard for them to avoid the liquid and solid water thats suspended in our atmosphere, and areas of rain.

^^^ lol you understand the thin line between water vapor and water that can be considered to be in a liquid phase right? Especially when considering humidity levels all over our planet. On top of that, even if the writer somehow intended it to only be liquid water and not solid or gaseous that is almost just as silly. Why would they invade a planet where the surface is 70% liquid water and then in addition to that 70% they would have to avoid areas where it rains and areas of high humidity? "Yes lest invade a planet where 85% of the areas are toxic and inhabitable to us!"

If there was something valuable there, its very feasiable. Its not like water sneaks up on you on earth. Its pretty easy to avoid especially with all kinds of technology. Its also feasible to think that
a.they didn't know if water would be harmful to them since they had never seen it,
b.they didn't know people would be using water like crazy and maybe its harmful to everything, c.whatever they were coming to get was worth risk.

Our atmosphere is 77% nitrogen gas. Can I splash some liquid nitrogen on you?

I understand that some things are harmful in one phase and not another, however water changes phases quickly and easily in our world daily and the liquid form is extremely abundant ...nitrogen does not change phases as easily in our atmosphere (boiling point of like -350 F or something).

I can say I agree with you that there is a chance their motive was worth the risk and/or they didn't know if it would be harmful to them. I have seen people say that plenty of times before and it certainly isn't worth arguing against because the movie doesn't hint one way or the other which certainly does leave that possibility. That is really the argument that you have to make in order to make the plot of the movie feasible to me so touche there.

Water might not sneak up on aliens but an irrigated corn field in an area of the world that more than likely forms dew every night probably isn't the best place to avoid that all elusive water.

They would have spent one night in that cornfield and been destroyed by water either way... of course that only takes care of one alien in one location. I suppose the few that landed in extremely arid places would have thrived for a while.

I watched this again the other day. ^ I don't think it's bad, it's just not especially good. I wouldn't tell everyone "hey, check out The Book of Eli", but it's enjoyable if your lounging around looking for something.
