That's a pretty cynical thought that his leave from golf was a calculated PR move to gain empathy. Maybe it actually is best for his marriage that he doesn't spend the next 3-4 months flying around the country away from his family.

I couldn't agree more. I played golf in HS and was just never really a fan of Tiger. He has always just been so uptight and secrative to the point of being annoying. I respect the guy more than almost any athlete alive. He is a total badass, but his personality and lifestyle just never did it for me.


If he were to just divorce his wife and make sure to support his kids to the fullest and come out and be like "I fucked up, but I am the biggest and most successful and famous athlete alive and I am going to keep dominating shit. I like women and all they have to offer. I am now single and in addition to winning, I am going to do whatever the hell I want to and I don't care what you think, I am Tiger Woods. Then go out and win another 5 majors over the next 3 years or so in addition to winning his usual 3 or so regular events, I really really believe he would be more popular than ever.
