you guys do realize you are trying to move relatively "short" guys to 1st base...
it may not be that way anymore, but usually your tallest guys were your third basemen and your 1st basemen...which the braves have going right now for them (Chipper- 6'4, Troy- 6'5...all those other guys are =6'1)...correct me if im wrong if that is not the trend

^ Are you serious? Yeah having a tall 1B might prevent an occasional overthrow and get an occasional out because he can stretch farther on a close play, but overall that does not mean shit if the guy playing first is hitting .125 and striking out 75% of the time. Plus Prado/Infante would have better range than Glaus who is like a sloth.

im not implying that Glaus has to be the 1st baseman because of his height, im just saying isnt that how it typically goes? 1st basemen are usually the tallest....i saw glaus play the opening day, and i wasnt impressed also 4/8/2010 11:41:46 AM |

You guys can chill out
Bobby won't take him out the lineup until the end of May, when he's still batting .180/.180/.180 4/8/2010 11:44:01 AM |

^ sad, but true. At least this year's lineup is deep enough to hopefully hide his performance (assuming he continues to suck). Last year there was simply too many outs in the lineup especially early in the year (Schaeffer, Kelly Johnson, Franceour, etc).
Also did anyone see the bomb that Johnson hit last night. Watch him turn back into a productive player similar to Frenchy in NY. 4/8/2010 12:59:39 PM |

^^ I don't know. If this indeed is Bobbys last year he might be quicker to pull the trigger. 4/8/2010 1:03:15 PM |

Wow anti-clutch hitting tonight. Glaus has now had three ABs this with the bases loaded and less than two outs and he has produced two Ks and one DP. Bobby needs to move him down in the lineup and let Heyward have those RBI opportunities. Atleast Glaus got two hits tonight and did not strike out.
Also Chipper left with an injury - it begins 4/8/2010 11:29:38 PM |

Why not move Hinske to 1B and put Glaus on the bench? 4/9/2010 8:58:08 AM |
NyM410 J-E-T-S 50085 Posts user info edit post |
Because he's Eric Hinske.
Anyway, I don't think Glaus is great, but you can't make snap judgments after three games. He didn't play all last year pretty much, so it's going to take some actual major league action to get his timing back.
After a month you can certainly have that conversation. 4/9/2010 10:01:59 AM |

So I guess ole Chipper hurt his oblique again and will likely miss the entire SF series. He seriously needs to start a yoga regime to help his flexibility. Three games into the season and he is already having muscle pulls?? WTF?? 4/9/2010 10:26:22 AM |

Pendleton needs to preach a little plate patience. Game 2 there were about 80 swings at pitches that were helmet high. Game 3, it was hard to watch them swining at Marmol's slider that ended up nowhere near the zone. 4/9/2010 2:25:37 PM |

Oh well 3-3 now while the Phillies continue to roll against the fucking easiest schedule possible to start a season. Braves should have won on Friday though so really they could be 4-2. Need Chipper to get back in the lineup. SD is next and the Braves need to win this series against a bad team.
