well, it had been snowing almost every day for the past month here
then about a week ago, it stopped. Yesterday, it was 50 degrees, but raining. All of the snow melted, and combined with the rain.... a lot of flooding took place.

Now, it's about 29 degrees and snowing again

I'm actually really following this storm because of where I'll be driving Friday. The Accuweather forums seem to think this could be a huge storm for extreme northern NC and lower VA up through the WV mountains. It all really depends on how far the colder temps drop down and how fast for Raleigh area. Almost definitely will see some wintry mix but beyond that who knows. Could be mostly rain.

Oh, I'm a novice. Just reporting what I read.

so my weekend is gonna be interesting. I'm driving down to charlotte tomorrow night, then back towards the virginia border friday morning for a tazer training seminar. Then after that, i'm driving back to charlotte Friday afternoon/evening. Then Monday, i have to drive back towards the virginia border.

I can drive in snow. I have a 4x4 truck, etc. But if it starts icing and shit....i could be fucked

Oh I hope this doesn't get too bad. I have to go from Norfolk to Raleigh and back this weekend, lol.

I won't be driving during any precipitation, but I don't want to get caught in a patch of ice driving back to Norfolk and end up fucking up my car or something.

On the other side, it's cool that I'm getting snow for my birthday.

icyhotpatch, the Court of Carolina (the place where all the English buildings, if you somehow made it four years and don't know the Court) is pretty much where everyone ON campus goes... they ski, snowboard, sled, all sorts of things.

Precipitation types and accumulation...although it is too early to specify exact amounts...at this time it appears that there will be enough cold air to support significant wintry precipitation in the watch area. Locations near the Virginia border are likely to see mainly snow. Further south near the U.S. 64 corridor...the precipitation is likely to be more of a mix of snow and sleet.... Now is the time to be thinking about emergency supplies... before winter storm conditions arrive.
