Parvati really screwed herself by not telling Russell and her excuse this week was pathetic. It gave her no advantage not to tell him and now there's no way he won't screw her over if he has the opportunity.

Sure, she might last longer than Russell, but she made absolutely sure with that move that he will do whatever he can to get her out once they've got the heroes under control.

I think he actually helped herself there...she doesn't know it, but at the moment Russell would probably much rather take her further than almost anyone else in the game right now

that couldn't be said for anybody else

i have a feeling russell does something to piss off danielle in the next few weeks. her profile on the survivor website says she respects russell the least, so something must have happened this season.

well i find it hard to believe that the person she allied herself with would also be the person she respected the least just because she watched his original season after she spent a couple weeks playing the game with him.

Interesting episode tonight.

I really don't understand why Russell would break up his Villian alliance, at least at this point. If I am Russell, I would probably be thinking take Sandra and Jerri/Danielle to the end, because there is no way he beats Parvati or rupert, and probably not Colby either. I really can't see any scenario now that has Rupert with a snowball's chance in hell of winning.

And wtf is up with them not showing what was written with Sandra's idol?

I for one am amazed Colby made it this far. Also, I really wish the merge had happened before the jury started, its really not fair Coach had to go when he could have remained with the Villains when they finally had the chance to vote for Heroes.

I just can't see Russell winning, it seems clear from all of the jury's reaction that they hate the guy, and now that he pulled that crap with Parvatti and Danielle, he just lost two more possible votes if he makes it to the final.

If he does team up with Rupert and Colby next week like the teaser showed, then things will get interesting, but I still think he may have some ties to Parvatti.

I hate Sandra, she has contributed nothing to this game, and now she has a free pass plus whatever is written on the note (but the note might just be the confirmation that it's a real idol). Russell should have targeted her weeks ago, especially after she tried to fuck over his alliance.

I don't necissarily like Sandra, but I think she has done OK. Yeah, she's not athletic at all, but she almost changed the game when she outed Russell after the merge. Candace screwed that up though.

My guess is Sandra makes the Top 3 and is the token person who gets no votes. She's a serious swing vote right now. Obviously (I think anyway) Rupert and Colby are aligned, but other than that there are really no strong alliances. We'll see how it pans out. I am definitely a Rupert/Colby supporter, followed by.... Jerri I guess. I really just can't bring myself to like Russell although he is a really strategic player. He is just such an asshole I can't get behind him winning.

Jerri is a flip-flopper with no backbone. No way Coach wants to tap that anymore after the way she's played.

Russell probably won't win, but that doesn't mean I can't cheer for him. I didn't like his pull on Danielle last time, that probably screwed everything up for him, but all last season and to this point this season I've loved the way he plays.

he just uses scare tactics and threatens people and relies on hidden immunity idols to further himself in the game. yeah he's entertaining to watch, but he's not a complete player despite what he thinks about himself. put him on one of the earlier seasons, and there's no way he lasts as long as he has in the last 2. i know you hate sandra, but she's a better player in my opinion.

Russell has no shot at winning if you watch the videos on CBS.com on life at Ponderosa (Where the jury stays) none of them like Russell. Danielle wants him to be the next voted off. Candace won't vote for Rupert. Sandra is pretty much doing exactly what she did when she won on Pearl Islands. She lays low and goes with the flow and makes the right move at the right time. The only thing against her is she already won once and the jury may not want her to win a second time or Parvati for that matter.

it should be 3 / 3 and if Jerri would flip flop w/out Russell getting in with the beard then they should be able to blindside his ass

dumb move by Russell last episode

what the hell, russell. yeah it didn't matter in the end, but why would he vote rupert over sandra? he better hope rupert doesn't assume russell went against him, but the last vote was never shown so who knows what rupert is thinking (i guess the online clips will show where he stands on russell).

never would have guessed that colby would be the last hero standing

^ because he loves letting you know how he's the best ever, yet he can't manage the social aspect of survivor to save his life. he's a great strategist and has the ability to go far, but he doesn't seem to understand that his style of play pisses off the other players. people on the jury aren't just gonna throw their personal feelings aside when they vote for the winner. i think russell would've been more interesting to watch this season if he would've had more time off from his first time so he would've known how NOT to act. a lot of his old tricks from the first time worked well again, but he also made the same mistakes.

I dunno if there are any UFC fans here, but Russell really reminds me of Tank Abbott. Abbott was a pitfighter who basically went into each fight and just started throwing punches. He had no style to speak of, but he was very strong, and very mean. He was able to absolutely dominate a lot of smaller, more skilled fighters though, despite his absolute glaring weaknesses with regards to cardio and anything not related to blind, raw aggression. Abbott loved to let everyone know just how much of a badass he was, but the fact is, he was never able to win a championship or win a tournament (he fought in the days where you had to win 3 matches in one night). People either loved him or hated him. I personally couldn't stand the prick.

Russell really reminds me of Abbott in so many ways. He is so arrogant and cocky, despite these glaring weaknesses in his game. He loves to proclaim about just how awesome he is, but he is only awesome at one phase really.... bullying people into voting with him, and maybe finding idols (although the idols have been much more difficult to procure this season.) He refuses to admit that there are any holes in his game, so he honestly has zero chance to ever win this game. The fact is, he is very average at challenges, and his abrasive personality and lack of any kind of loyalty will most likely keep him from getting any votes this year (I could see maybe one from JT).

When Bret Hart and Jeff Jarrett were hurt, Vince Russo wanted to make Tank Abbott the WCW Champion until one of the two was healthy enough to take the belt back. Fortunately, it didn't happen, but he still would've been only the second-worst champion in WCW history next to David Arquette.

^^^i agree...if russell had time to witness the results of samoa he most likely would have played differently (although maybe not, he's pretty hard-headed).

it was clear that he thought he had samoa dominated and thought it wasn't even going to be close in the vote and he took that attitude into heroes vs. villains.

nah. i've been watching the ponderosa clips, and JT isn't a very big fan of russell. i'm pretty sure everyone on the jury has made a negative comment about him. he has absolutely no shot at winning. there's basically only 4 players going into the finale tonight.

Parvarti needs to call the police because she just got robbed. It's almost like Russell was trying to piss off the jury members, so I can't really can say that he deserved the win even if he was a better player than Parv (which is debatable either way). But Sandra did nothing in this game at all to be deserving of the win. She's the most undeserving winner since...well, since last year. What a way to ruin an otherwise pretty good season.

[Edited on May 16, 2010 at 10:06 PM. Reason : well, that and it sucked that it was so easy to accidentally find out Sandra won months ago.]

even though probst just outlined how woefully ineffective russell is at managing the opinions of his peers? if the game was called eliminator, russell would definitely be the best. he lucked the fuck out this season.

i, too, think parv was robbed.

i can see why people didn't like russell and didn't vote for him...i'm fine with that.

parv wasn't on russell's level as far as pissing people off...and she had a target on her back the whole time as she said...and she played great physically, strategically and socially to get to the end.

in my opinion she is the best survivor player ever.

did anyone else notice that part towards the end of the final episode where russell said something like "last time i brought people that did do anything to the end and it didn't work, this time i'm bringing people that aren't liked"?

i could have totally misremembered what he said...but he definitely said something about what he did last time not working out. he couldn't have known that during the season...that had to have been fancy staging and editing done after the fact...right?
