I think Davydenko has a good chance of taking the title this year if he takes out Federer

he is on fire

Davydenko looks like a scrawnier version of my high school chemistry teacher, but he's running circles around the world's best tennis player.

actually it can be more exciting considering there are often longer points and less dependence on serve

it seems to me like men's points are generally longer

at least among the more evenly matched matchups

and/or the top ranked players

was Davydenko on speed for that first set?

this is the most ridiculous turnaround I've ever seen

It seems like the confidence of both players made a 180 around the same time. This has been masterful from Roger since that point though, geez..

would have classified as insane if it had gone to 5 sets, imo

but as it stands, it was just another day at the office for Federer

but again, that's just my opinion

good point

the 6-0 set I didn't pay a damn bit of attention to cause I was pissed that Federer won 5 (or however many games it was) in a row before that

Novak got sick early in the 4th and never looked the same. His body seems to break down a lot in majors.

yeah but they could start it at noon Australia time, putting the match at around 8 PM for Americans

they know they have the biggest audience from the U.S.

even though this has been the shittiest match I've seen lately

you guys that stayed up should still not ruin it, since you clearly know it's airing at a decent hour in the PM

and I predict Murray is gonna get his ass handed to him

don't really care how good he's been playing

I'm going to go with murray simply because everytime I go for fed in a final lately he lets me down, oh well it will awesome for andy to finally end that drought for british players

my finals prediction is Serena and Federer, both in straight sets

^I was initially thinking that

but I dunno, isn't it Serena and Henin? (I haven't been keeping up with the women's)

Henin has got some mad game - she'll at least make it interesting I bet

same with Murray

I was originally thinking 3 sets in favor of Federer, but if Murray brings it, and Federer happens to start out shaky like he did against Davydenko, Murray's got a real chance at this

I think it is more likely Murray will end up being the nervous one, though

but here's hoping he beats Federer

I am so staying up until 3:30 on Sunday for this (25 hours from now, right?)

I COULD watch Serena, but probably will wait til tomorrow (the afternoon) if it's airing at a decent hour

but Federer and Murray, I just have to see that shit live for it to have some meaning

For what it's worth the oddsmakers have serena with a slightly better than 50% chance of winning, and Federer with about a 60% chance.

I feel like it should be closer to 70% for Federer

considering Murray has never won a major (wait, or has he)

but I remember them mentioning something about how it's supposed to be really hot when they play, and the conditions favor Murray

so maybe they're basing it partially on that

about the Serena match I don't even care who wins, cause I like both of them

I suppose I should pull for the American though

i will be cheering for henin

because despite being the victim in the 2003 french incident

she whined about it so much i stopped feeling bad for her
