State won 4-2. In the 8th GT had the bases loaded and no one out and State got a K and then a DP to get out of the inning only giving up 1. The defense has been terrible lately, but has been good the last 2 games and we've taken 2 of 2 from the #4 ranked team in the nation with 1 to play tomorrow.

Just saw that State took the first game of the series against FSU tonight 5-2. Pretty big win for any NCAA chances we still have. Need to take at least one more this weekend and hopefully UNC gets swept.

Sweep Duke
Win 2 against duke and either UNC win 2 or fewer against VT OR BC get swept against GT
Win 1 against duke and UNC win 1 or none against VT
Get swept by Duke and UNC get swept by VT

Well we have beat Duke 8-3 and 7-6 in 12 innings.

UNC has won both, BC has lost both.

Win tomorrow and we are 7th, lose and a bunch of things could happen especially since we lost both series.

We haven't clinched crap yet because we could finish in a 3 way tie and be left out. Win and we are in. Lose and the other 2 teams win and we are screwed. FACEPALM! lets go FACK! Like a poster above said, we will likely play Clemson on Wed. The ACC tourney is split into two pools. Pool 1 is seeds 1,4,5,8 and Pool 2 is seeds 2,3,6,7. Our pool will likely be Clemson, GT, VT, and us. We are guaranteed to play three games. Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat will each have only 3 games. The entire schedule will be released tomorrow.

^ UNC still has a better shot of making the NCAA regionals than us. Their RPI is in the low 30s while we are in the high 50s. We need a solid run in the ACC tourney if we hope to make the NCAAs as an at large. I hope that UNC gets left out, but since they are UNC and have had so much recent success in baseball, I am willing to bet that they still make the NCAAs. Imagine a team making the NCAAs that did not even qualify for their own conference tourney.

State had games against teams like UC-Irvine and ECU who are usually good OOC games, but after State beat them this year they ended up falling off the map some and our RPI wasn't helped out. UNC didn't run into this problem as much. We also need to stop scheduling so many of the types of teams like Towson, LaSalle and Quinnipac.
