As long as the cold weather stadiums are in cities big enough to support a Super Bowl, ie Chicago

and not say, Green Bay

Chicago is probably the only other cold weather area that has the infrastructure to support a Super Bowl (meaning hotel rooms, mass transit to the stadium area, marketability, event space, etc, etc).

So they released a statement that White obviously wasn't taking his second chance serious amid rumors he will get slapped with a 4 game suspension for drug violation except the NFL says no such ruling has been made and if it were being investigated its a confidential process.

Point being, Pete Carroll is a douchenozzle

Sucks for M Jackson and the Eagles...I hate it when players get put out in pre-season and so early in the season. I don't mind as much towards middle - end of season and they get hurt playing the game. Just sucks.

L. White will land somewhere...

P. Carroll...overrrated in Pro

I'd just like to remind everyone that the New Orleans Saints will be the defending Super Bowl champions for the 2010 NFL season.

"Vick faces continuing travel restriction

ESPN.com news services
Michael Vick has been barred from traveling out of Pennsylvania by probation officials in the wake of a shooting after his birthday party last month, the quarterback's spokeswoman told a Philadelphia TV station.

Vick
Vick, who must have travel plans approved, missed scheduled appearances this weekend at his own golf tournament in Atlanta and at a youth football camp in Raleigh, N.C., as he stayed in Philadelphia, Judy Smith told WCAU-TV, an NBC affiliate.

Vick's travel has been at the discretion of his probation officer since he was released from prison in a federal dogfighting case in May 2009.

While the situation is not unusual as a possible probation violation is investigated, it was unclear how it could impact Vick's travel with the Eagles this season. The team's training camp is set to start in full July 29 at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., 60 miles north of Philadelphia.

The restriction follows a prosecutor saying this week that while Vick wasn't involved in a shooting after his 30th birthday party in Virginia Beach, Va., that he was in a confrontation before the incident.

Spokespersons for both events Vick missed this weekend say they weren't notified until Sunday morning that Vick would not be attending.

"They called early, like 2 o'clock in the morning, telling us he's not coming," said Cornelius Corprew, director of Camp Elite Sports' two-day football camp. "And then we couldn't speak to him. It was through one of his associates.

"We're not crazy. No state agency is communicating at 2 o'clock in the morning that he's not allowed to come. I think that was a selfish act."

Corprew said that he was told Saturday by Vick representatives that the NFL star would be there Sunday. He said Vick was paid a $2,000 deposit of a $4,000 fee. He said the camp was built around Vick's appearance, and that campers paid $175 each and were promised packages that included photos and autographs.

"I'm upset because our camp is built on integrity and character and that's what we teach to our kids," Corprew said.

Rema Miller, whose Atlanta-based company promoted the Michael Vick Celebrity Golf tournament in Georgia, said she spoke with Vick on Friday and he indicated at that time he was meeting with the Eagles.

On Sunday, Vick told event organizers he could not appear.

"He was coming at the time, but unfortunately he had to go meet with Philly for a team meeting," Miller said. "He did send a message that he hates that he could not be here, but he appreciates everybody coming out to support the charities."

Terance Mathis, a former Vick teammate with the Atlanta Falcons, played in the golf tournament. He said he was disappointed Vick wasn't there, but admires Vick's charitable efforts.

"He's still doing a great thing, trying to raise money for charities and help the community," said the former NFL wide receiver. "It's an unfortunate thing that happened, and when that happens, law enforcement does what they have to do. But it doesn't change how I feel about the guy and what he's trying to accomplish."

Though the events were scheduled on the same weekend, Corprew said he was assured that it would not present a problem. He said he was told not to worry about the golf tournament -- that Vick would take care of them first.

Corprew said Vick missed an opportunity.

"You talk about second chances," he said. "You're given a great second chance and this would've been the perfect place to show he appreciated being given a second chance."

The victim in the June 25 shooting has not be identified by the police, but Vick's attorney, Larry Woodward, said it was Quanis Phillips -- a co-defendant in the federal dogfighting case that landed Vick in federal prison. Phillips was treated at a hospital and released the following day.

Woodward said Phillips, who was sentenced to 21 months for his role in the dogfighting operation, was not an invited guest at Vick's birthday bash.

Vick remains on three years' probation and is not allowed to associate with anyone convicted of a felony unless granted permission to do so by his probation officer.

Police said Vick is not a suspect in the shooting.

Information from ESPN legal analyst Roger Cossack and The Associated Press was used in this report.

So I searched for a 2010 fantasy football thread and didn't see one, so sorry if this is totally out of place or if I missed the new fantasy thread.

I would have created one, but I am sure that is somebody else's job.

One of my leagues is drafting tomorrow night and I would like some advice.

My question is: Jones-Drew or Ray Rice?

Damn that is really early to be drafting, is it a ppr league or just standard scoring. Either way I think I would go with Jones-Drew, simply because he doesn't get his touches robbed by two other backs like Rice does

This is not a league I really care about, I'm just doing it because I am out on a project and bored out of my mind. Thanks for the advice.

Tough question.

It's as win/win since both are expected to put up monster numbers, but I personally would go with Rice. Better QB, better O-line, better offense as a whole should lead to an increased number of red zone opportunities for him. If it is PPR then that's also an added bonus for Rice.

I would take Rice. His offense gets immediate upgrade with Boldin which will take one defender out of the box. Flacco has shown and proven to be threat in passing game and Balt's O-Line is solid. Rice may have touches taken from him but he wold prob grow into getting 75-80% of touches.

Plus Balt's D is going to give the Ravens the Ball alot more than Jags D.

see, i would go MJD, because even though Rice is the man, he's still not going to get the full load

whereas the jaguars depend on MJD for offense

well looks like Vick is getting off this time, which makes absolutely NO sense. he violated his parole, someone got shot, and he's on tape after lying about it.

yet Big Ben has to sit out 6 games because something that never went past an investigation made him look like he was having fun with the wrong people

incredible, im not saying one guy is better than the other but theres no fucking fairness in how these punishments are being doled out

^the two circumstances are completely different though. A girl claimed that Big Ben raped/sexually assaulted her, if the league did nothing it would be a huge stain on their record, you cant let a guy even be in that kind of situation, especially when you are the face of your franchise

Vick didnt "violate his parole" if he invited the guy there and spent time with him (which could potentially have happened, but it didnt sound like it) then he mightve violated his parole. I think that he is an idiot for even having that kind of party, where just about anyone could get in, but you cant suspend a guy for being at a bar when a guy you didnt know would be there shows up and then subsequently gets shot.

Maybe youre a Steelers fan and thats why you are looking at it the way you are, but from an outsiders point of view, I think it makes perfect sense.

actually im not a steelers fan but i was looking at it from the point of big ben was only accused of something not proven in court and vick was ACTUALLY in the presence of something easily proven in court, im not saying he did it or not but big ben was punished for his lifestyle as much as what the girl said he did and vick should learn not to get himself in similar situations

Quote :
"ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- Denver Broncos running backs Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter have both been injured on the Broncos' first day of training camp.

Moreno was carted off the field after hurting his right leg Sunday, and Buckhalter injured his left leg minutes later.

The Denver Post, citing unnamed sources, reported that Moreno suffered a serious right hamstring injury, while Buckhalter pulled his upper back.

About an hour into the workout, Moreno caught a pass in 7-on-7 drills and turned upfield when his leg buckled. He grimaced as he hopped into the team's headquarters for tests.

Buckhalter hurt his leg about 10 minutes later during the same drill and limped off on his own.

Coach Josh McDaniels, who 48 hours earlier traded veteran running back J.J. Arrington to Philadelphia for special teams stud Joe Mays, said he didn't know the extent of their injuries.

"Certainly, you don't want to see two of your guys that you really count on at the same position come off the field on the first day of training camp," McDaniels said.

The Broncos' backfield now looks like this: waiver wire pickup Kolby Smith, undrafted rookie Toney Baker and second-year pros Lance Ball and Bruce Hall.

"One guy goes down, a guy moves up," Ball said. "Chance to get more reps, get on film and impress the coaches.""
