This game is the shit. I've probably played for like 15 hours. However, once i discovered how OP Master Yi & Miss Fortune are, I pretty much can't play as anyone else and every game pretty much feels exactly the same. Anymore OP dudes? And are there any other maps other than the Summoner's Rift, the 3v3 lane one and the 'domination' map?

Maybe i'm not a high enough level but it would be cool if there were actually secondary objectives in the main (summoner's rift) mode. I've killed the elite dragon/dinosaur dude a couple times but it is kind of pointless.

lotta ppl are more op than yi or mf. dragon gives your entire team 190g so it is definitely worth it.

just try a little of everything while you can. the competition sub-30 is pretty terrible (not that it is necessarily good at 30).

I was actually under the impression that Master Yi was considered pretty bad outside custom rule games. He is a monster vs scrubs, but only scrubs who don't know when to run. He is also quite squishy for a melee and can go down quite fast.

he's not a great champ, no, but depending on your team comp he does a decent job of getting to and tearing up your squishies. between his speed and alpha strike he's tough to stop without a hard CC (though admittedly you only need 1 to tear him open). if they have a decent team too he is an annoying backdoor as well.

i've seen a few good Yis lately so i wasn't going to hate on him as a char.

Yi is only good when fed, and he can only get fed against teams that don't know proper positioning or don't have a CC. I play as Lux a lot now, and recently I was in a game where Yi got fed in bottom lane, and in late game during team fights, he could easily backdoor and rape me before I could really respond.

MF is pretty good, a well timed Bullet Time is great to watch. Currently I think she's a better AD carry than Vayne or Trist. Caitlin is probably better in the laning phase, and MF is about on par with Graves.

I'd really take the competitiveness of the game at low levels with a grain of salt. When you get to 30 and start moving up, the shit talking increases a lot, and you also see a lot of tactics that just don't show up in 1-30.

Yi's not great or terrible - he is just one of the easiest characters to get decently good at. I'd actually recommend him as a starting carry choice, since you can focus on certain areas of the game to improve at (last hitting, not getting over extended, etc), while not having to worry about skillshots, having somewhat less map-awareness demands, and also having the escape speed and survivability (with med) in lane to live through minor fuckups.

Just keep in mind those skills will also need to be developed eventually.

^^I thought the same thing initially, but after not playing for a couple months i came back to it and have really enjoyed it. Just read up on a free character to get an idea of its play style and if you like that style then give it a try and if not then try someone else. Its kind of hard starting out because a lot of the characters are really different and (for me at least) the best way to find a counter for your opponents charaters is to spend a little time playing each one. (which you can only do when they are free)

I mean i'm only level 12 and i generally go like 2x minimum in kills/whatever and win games, but i guess i'm still in EZ mode play. I want to play a toon that rapes people. Who should i be? I've been having fun with Miss Fortune also but i generally am mediocre with her until later points of the game.

She is weak early game compared to late game, so that's just the champ. If you really want to be the person that makes or breaks the game for your team, I'd start looking at tanky champs like Amumu, Shen, Garen, or maybe an Irelia/Riven. It's good to know how to play a carry, but you're going to start running into games where everyone wants to play carry, no one knows how to tank/jungle/initiate, and you lose because of it.

If you are looking for strong assassin/dps type champs that can get a lot of kills, I'd look into Morgana, Gangplank, Ashe, Akali, Xin Zhao

morg may a bit of an oddball choice there. she's heavily reliant on her skillshot to tear up people, plus she has monster cooldowns. not that she doesn't farm like a beast and do decent dmg.

if you play well you can be VERY lame with champs like udyr, shen, garen, and other tanky people who can do decent dmg or have a lot of cc (as noted).

i like playing the guys that just hit you with WTF dmg like I mentioned nidalee and gragas.

Both have crazy good sustain and around 700AP with high MPen by end game. With a good spear I see 1100-1500 dmg. When that hits their AP or AD carry, their HP just tanks and usually they panic. Soon as the panic sets in the team fight instantly turns in your favor and you can start picking them off one at a time. Nid can also heal for about 800 a heal late game that also increases your carry's AS significantly, not to mention her mobility for chasing down the guy that stretched a little too far in cat form.

Gragas on the other hand will toss in one Q in a team fight and potentially deal ~1000 dmg to all 5 at once, following that with a well placed R for another 800-100 on everyone, scattering them and tossing the target in the direction of your choosing (difficult to do properly). If there is still a cluster of enemies left, an "E" will add another 400+ in a small AOE cone.

I'm level 29 and people ALWAYS seem to underestimate the dmg output of either of these heroes.

nids a little more common so you expect that stupid spear to get you. gragas though you usually dont see so he can be sneaky.

he's pretty rape early/mid against a squishy in lane too because those barrels do nice dmg early on. I just feel like his ratios aren't good enough to make him keep up with everyone else dmg wise. that said, you can still spam like a champ since he almost never runs out of mana.

it's true the spear is expected, and very hard to land 1v1 in lane, but in team fights people tend to forget or be unable to do anything about it when stunned.

No its not. Ap nid and bruiser/ad nid that goes atmogs/triforce are the only viwble options. Bruiser nid top struggles abit until she gets lantern, but after thst she just split pushes to infinity and with fully stacked warmogs its very difficult to come gank her while shes pushing. Usually takes 2 + people to push her back making the rest of the game effectively 4v3

^^^ Yeah the way I build soraka does minimal damage, I don't even put a point into starfall until I have to. But with her heal and infuse to provide mana your lane carry can be spam crazy and aggressive. Plus, infuse silence and an autoattack is great at zoning out people.

She also seems to be popular as an AP mid these days, but I haven't ever really gone that route with her.

.Feels like it is taking forever to get to 30. Of course, finally semester of law school isn't helping...and I guess its good to be able to learn more champs before I get there. Just feels like IP and EXP accumulates sooo slowly.
