None of the newer guys, including Painter, are doing a good job of positioning for rebounds. They don't look for a body to hit -- they just stand waiting for the ball to bounce their way. Hopefully that gets fixed.


We are missing a lot of off the ball screens and motion, right now. Everything is off the ball. That's why our shots are hard

Really good to see Lowe giving the second team players minutes.

Painter basically got owned at the end of the second quarter. Made 1 basket, missed a bunch, gave up baskets, gave up rebounds.

As you would expect, the freshmen are way better in the break. In the half court, their mistakes are more frequent and of greater severity. They aren't really running plays on offense, just doing drive and dish. None of that is surprising. It'll get fixed.

I think Howell is shaping up to be key. We need that other big to rebound and start a break.

Forgot to add, shooting needs major work.


Gotta get inside-out 3s in rhythm. It's all about catching the pass facing the basket in a shooting stance. Painter and Howell were not making themselves big, which means all the 3s came from lateral passes (at best).

I thought Painter had easily the best minutes of his career, 5 points and 9 rebounds in a half is pretty damn good. Granted he needs to improve his positioning and defense but still.

He leads our team with 9 rebounds. showed a couple of nice moves in the post. So he is 2-6. Everyone else on the team sans CJ williams is bricking the shit out of everything

I'd say he is playing pretty well since Smith hasnt played but a couple minutes for whatever reason
