15pt win against a team that got very hot from the 3pt line and got a shit load of free throws despite the fact they are a perimeter oriented team. Turnovers were a big problem in this game. I think Harrow has taken over the team. You saw he was who was in to end the game.

Much, much better defense second half. Controlled the defensive boards in the second half too. Nice that Wood remembered how to score.

Not an ideal night, too many turnovers, but pretty good tuneup before ACC starts.

I just got back from the game and I gotta say....fuck those officials. They called every fucking touch foul for the first few minutes, then decided the game was going to end with the fucking water boys playing and didn't call a god damn thing, allowing the game to get chippy (except the touch fouls on us...those obviously had to be called).


To be honest with you, we actually played really well for most of the game but Elon was jacking up 3's and hitting everything. We had some bad defensive lapses early(CJ Leslie comes to mind on about 3 of the first few 3's they hit and one monstrous dunk) allowing them to get wide open, but then we clamped down, played great D for a stretch, and they still hit some fucking 3's with hands in their faces. They finally woke up in the 2nd half, although we also started switching on the screens at about the 10 minute mark in the 1st half which was a great adjustment and took away at lot of them. Also, Tracy gave up a few plays early and I thought he looked a step slow on D which cost us some, but he started bodying up and played really well in the 2nd half.


Offensively, we were really good. Early we went through a rough spell in the 1st half but hit a few buckets in transition to get it going, then started running really good sets for the rest of the game. The defense from Elon was as physical and dirty as anything you would ever see from a d00k team and our guys did a great job of dealing with it from about the 10 minute mark on in the 1st. Elon could have fouled out all of their bigs in the 1st half especially that cunt #33, who would basically play defense by forearming whoever dared to come near him out of the pain, then throw go down on offense and throw his hands up every time someone touched him slightly. This was recognized by the officials and got kinda comical to the fans. Richard Howell just gave it right back to him once he realized he could and the guy just pouted like a bitch.


Anyway...rough game but better for us than the margin indicates. We played really well I thought for the most part

Yeah Tracy and that goon #33 got into it after he hacked Howell for an and-1 after an offensive rebound. Total bullshit...he got in Tracy's face and Tracy looked to just push him back a little out of his mouth. Dude deserved to get punched. At one point CJ went up for an offensive rebound and he literally grabbed his shoulder and threw him to the ground....drawing boos from the fans (it was a late whistle too....I didn't think they would call it for a second)


Javi's was just him being a retard, although we started getting some calls after he got that T. I think it was right after Tracy got tackled from behind on a defensive rebound and they called it out on us when he dropped the ball IIRC....maybe off a play or 2 though. Javi hacked the guy after he traveled and didn't get called for it, then said something to the official. Lowe gave the official an earful during the timeout.

^^its funny you mention that, because at one point #33 got beasted down low and his coach pulled him out of the game and gave him the forearm shove motion like he should be doing it more. He came back in a few minutes later and almost had to fight Howell over it when we went back on defense...Howell gave it right back to him. It was pretty funny actually cause he woulda gotten his ass kicked...although he was a pretty big dude to be honest with you he just played like a fucking pussy.

Elon lit it up for 10 minutes, then we played really good D from there on and they played like shit. IIRC they started the game 6/8 from 3, many of them contested (except the 3 from the dude Leslie was responsible for)


And where in the hell do people get off bitching about these games that they didn't watch like they saw it with their own two eyes? Game not televised in any mode and there were only 3700 people there. I was. It wasn't as bad as the box score suggests....which isn't that bad anyway.

LOL I'm not the one crying about the other team's lighting us up and never said this was a problem so you're wrong. 146th in PPG allowed, 133rd in defense efficiency say otherwise to us being good defensively. Look up some Sagarin/Pomeroy numbers. I feel like adder with FACTS!
