I hate being pessimistic, but here is the reason why we will lose tonight:

Sidney Lowe is insisting on running a half court offense tonight against UNC. At what point in the season has NC State indicated that running a half court offense would produce the offensive efficiency necessary to win games in the ACC? The only 2 options that Sidney has in the half court set are:

1) Scott Wood screen up top for 3
2) Tracy Smith/CJ Leslie dump in's

I don't expect UNC to drop a 2nd man down to the block at all with either player as their low post players have been phenomenal defensively.

So that means that either we are going to see more of the same in regards to 1-on-1 shot selection, or we see Scott Wood getting the ball way more often in kick outs.

In all honesty, UNC's defense I feel is arguably one of the best in the country as of late, and with NC State seemingly not running any consistent offensive structure, I simply just don't see how we can score enough points to overcome what is typically poor defense & rebounding.

Vegas right now is really making it tempting @ UNC -5.5...

NC State 61

I kind of liked what Boston College did to UNC in Chapel Hill. They didn't try to crash the offensive boards...once they threw up a shot, everyone would high-tail back and play defense. UNC got zero transition points (unless it was a bad turnover). Their half court offense isn't that great unless Marshall is playing lights out. Their bigs are solid, but inconsistent...as is their 3-point shooting.

I say we have all 4 rush back to play defense and just let CJL jump around like a pogo stick and try to get put-backs.
