Ok, Carzin Jr, after thorough research, I have decided to allow you to watch The Mummy on TBS.

The Mummy Returns, however, is a no go. Brendan Fraser takes his shirt off and says damn like four times.

the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles almost made the cut, but that Raphael was a potty-mouth and April O'Neil and Casey Jones got a little too close at times for his liking

Saw this over the weekend and enjoyed it. My reaction was pretty much what someone else posted earlier:
Quote :
"It was funny and exactly what I expected. Nothing more, nothing less."

It's obviously the "same" movie as the first, but it still worked for me because they embraced that fact. They didn't try to evolve or experiment, they stuck with what worked in the first one. From beginning to end, all the cut scenes and plot lines were verbatim (cheers before blackout, time laps of city skyline, wakeup scenes, etc.). But that unabashed copy/paste worked on some level for me. I guess I'm just a sucker for stupid funny movies.

That being said, it was a little too over the top for me to enjoy it as much as the first one.

You need a rating system to tell you that taking a child to see the HANGOVER is a bad idea? Are you kidding me?

No, but a rating system does help if its fairly applied. For me, its a no brainer. No kids to see Hangover unless your a really shitty parent. Obviously more parents out there are trying to be cool than actually parent their kids.

Let me edit this once more, since I see someone restated...

I 'believe' Airplane received a PG rating because PG-13 didnt exist, and it didnt meet the qualification for R. I know there was contraversy over the gap, which is why they created PG-13. Andromeda Strain is another good example, with a topless dead girl and it was rated PG. I think the need for a new rating system would be beneficial, since there are obviously issues with the current one.

Kids are going to see tits and cocks and say fuck shit ass and piss regardless if they see this movie or not. The internet had made traditional rating systems obsolete. You know how I find meatspin? My 10 year old cousin forwarded me the link.

I'm not sure what you are complaining about. If you don't want your kid (<17 years old) to see this movie...don't take them. If you don't want your kid (>17 years old) to see this movie, you are in denial.

I think you guys need to re-read what started this... I stated that I thought this movie was a really hard 'rated R' movie, and asked why it wasnt an NC-17.

Because then it wouldn't make 50 billion dollars.

Nudity for laughs is OK. Nudity for sex is bad. At least according to the MPAA.

i'm just wondering why this is a thing. bruno had a solid 10-15 seconds of nothing but a dick twirling around on the screen.

I have to say that I was in tears watching this flick.

Sure there are parts that I would have liked to have seen handled differently, but I was still rolling.

Would definitely see again, and will for sure buy.

Flame away ...

If you think this deserves an NC-17 rating, what about the first Sex and the City movie?

Breasts, (almost) a vagina, a dick filling up the screen, and obviously lots of sexual references... HOW COULD THEY

Another example would be Bruno

134 mill and rising, but it doesnt matter what parents say if kids want to see a movie bad enough they will just go watch it during the day buying a ticket for a different movie when movie security is relaxed

Saw this today. I laughed a lot, but thought the first one was slightly better. I'd still watch it again, though.
We went to crossroads for a 1:40 early showing. It was only us 2 and about 4 other people in the theater.
An employee came in twice during the movie and stood in the front corner with a flashlight/orange cone and surveyed us for about 5 minutes, then left.
Is this something new that crossroads is doing to make sure kids are being stupid and annoying during movies?
I have no problem with it at all, but just found it weird since there were only ~5 people in the theater.

Just learned that Ken Jeong is a medical doctor, graduated high school in Greensboro at 16 years old, got his undergrad degree from Duke and his M.D. from UNC. His wifes name is Tran Ho

Pretty accomplished dude for how annoying of a character he plays
