you should be ok at that res with a 560ti or really most mid-high end Fermi cards.

got a 2560x1440 display and <3 it...but the decision will probably come back to haunt me in games like this.

i do have a Crossfire 6950 (unlocked/OC'd to 6970s) setup, but I think this game will bring them to their knees.

^^ I got the GTX 560 SSC DS, which is something like a vanilla 560 that been OC to have nearly the performance of the 560Ti. Will that be OK you think?

lol at brianj320.

Could have saved 25% off and paid no tax if you looked on slickdeals. Deal still works. I also posted this info in this thread earlier on. Use paypal and set your location to CA to avoid tax.

Plus, last weekend, you could have gotten Dead Space 2 for free with preorder.

I bought the game 7 months ago when it was $49.99 and you haven't been charged for the game. They charge everyone on October 25th, you basically just digitally reserved a copy; even mine in February hasn't been charged.

Seedless: most likely, but we don't have the RC, so we don't know what it will really take. I'll tell you one thing it will take AMD 6 cores to equal Intel C2Qs like the Q9450/9550/9650, just like it did with BC2. So when the specs are sort of general like how DICE posted the CPU requirement, all AMD quads may not do that well.

if you buy the game and get the retail box, can you participate in beta and pre-download the live version?

saw the info on slickdeals and couldn't be bothered to go through all that trouble. plus i had been reading in the thread on slickdeals a lot of people having problems with the whole process not working anymore and them saying it was a waste of time. oh well.. i barely buy any games in a year anyway. just crazy how much games are now, was more my point than anything.

http://www.techpowerup.com/152661/NVIDIA-Releases-Battlefield-3-Specific-GeForce-BETA-Driver.html

Quote :
"NVIDIA Releases Battlefield 3 Specific GeForce BETA Driver
NVIDIA today released a new BETA version of its GeForce driver suite. What makes the new GeForce 285.38 BETA important is its timing, and what it brings to the table. Recently, EA/DICE released an open-beta of the highly anticipated AAA title, Battlefield 3, and gamers are already sharpening their skills ahead of its market release.

The new GeForce BETA drivers are said to increase performance of Battlefield 3 beta by up to 38%, add SLI profiles for the game, and add several stability fixes and image-quality improvements for the game. In essence, Battlefield 3 beta is at the center of GeForce 285.38 BETA. Apart from Battlefield 3, the drivers add SLI profiles for Dead Island, Diablo III, Dragon Age 2, Need for Speed: The Run, and Saints Row: The Third; and fix a stability issue with Crysis 2 (DirectX 9)."

I pre-ordered, but for $48 on newegg, the extra $12 for two-days early beta access didn't seem worth ordering it through Origin.

I'm gonna put the 9800 GX2 through it's paces to see how it holds up, but chances are I'm gonna want to upgrade to a 6950 in a couple days.

the drama continues on the wait for early access, the word from support is 3-4 hours from now.

^ 9800GX2 will get stomped by this game if the predictions are correct. People with GTX 295's are scared they won't have good performance even though NVIDIA released a Beta Driver just for BF3 Beta.

This game is DX10 only (no XP) and has more DX11 features than any game before it, so if you want to play at Med-High w/ DX11 @ 1080p you are going to need a 560ti at least IMO. The spec requirements I posted from the beta site are lower than predicted, but so was Crysis.

I hope it runs great for all DX10 and on cards, but I don't see this happening (especially in a Beta).

Do you think the 560 will benefit from the beta drivers? Also, this chart was made prior to release of the game beta an the driver beta, so it could be a little off maybe?

Here is a stream of BF3 running with a 6970 and FRAPS so you can kinda get an idea about your system from this.

He is playing with all Ultra settings a few medium/high settings.

i think my 560gtx-ti and rest of my system will handle this quite well from what i've been reading

just checked my email and got my code too; will be installing tonight after work yay!

got my Key

the download is only ~4Gb because it is one map and one mode, but we should have close to full eye candy on Beta. Alpha release was 1.0.0.0 the first stable release of the engine, Beta should be the real thing ready for testing.
