a 100 pitch shutout from cliff lee. that is absolutely masterful.

Lee is lights out right now. He benefited from some calls tonight and some great D behind him, but ultimately the Braves were outclassed.

No out classing to it. One team showed up to play and the other didn't give a fuck.

Ill be glad when victorino dies. Listen fucker you don't need to argue every call

the pitcher, who is not even the ace of this club, threw a 100 pitch, 9 inning shutout, and the lineup scored 9 runs on 11 hits to firm up a 8.5 game division lead.

they only way the braves could've gotten more outclassed is if they were 22 games back in the division.

Season series is 7-6

Phillies are obviously miles ahead of the braves

you don't think the philes are miles ahead of the braves?

for the record i'm totally willing to admit that after that article on grantland, i'm fully expecting this team to win the series and then not have a winning season for another decade.

Not if the Braves get six solid innings from their starter. Fourth best record in baseball.Phils' offense can still let them down. Braves pen is out of this world.

^ We're right here. Who talks shit anyway. Every Brave fan knows Philly has a better team. In the grand scheme, this series did not mean a whole lot except maybe for momentum. Congrats, crown yourself on the sweep.

Wow I just watched that video. That is amazingly lame. I can't imagine how much time that dude spent making that piece of crap. Maybe one day his mom will let him leave his room or buy a real poster for his wall.

cliff lee has got to be my favorite pitcher since greg maddux. just solid solid fundamentally. nothing too fancy, just so solid that he's unhittable. a true master of his craft.

^^ haha what, calling me a bandwagon fan? Are you fucking insane?

Some people grow up Catholic, some people grow up Baptist. I grew up Phillies. My daddy and I went to every home game possible when I was a kid. When I was 11 years (1993), I got to meet all the players on the team that season, I have pictures of me with Dutch and Lenny Dykstra. That was the best year of my little life....well until Mitch Williams. A few years later we had to move to NC, where we thought would be neutral territory, but no, I had to endure years and years of Braves torment, constantly being picked on for still loving my team, and not giving in. I think I've earned my right to be called a Phillies fan.

I mainly called you bandwagon as you showed up in this thread at the end of the season after the Phillies pwned the Braves. I'm sure you're a good fan. That being said Go Cards, burn in hell Fillies.

A fucking three run homer from Ben Francisco. GTFO. How lucky is that?

Cards have outhit the Phils the whole series but just like the regular season hit into so many double plays it makes your head spin.

we were the number one team for most of the season. we got eliminated in a 5 game series. it sucks but that's baseball. still a season to be very proud of. we'll probably trade Kendrick and Worley for some more consistent bats

You also have the worst losing record of all time, and hold several substantial records for the worst seasons of all time. If you want to hang your hat on losing the ALDS with that payroll and that pitching staff to a team that barely made the Playoffs, then I don't have much a problem with it because it's just silly. Of course, none of this would matter if the fanbase were worth a shut, but clearly they're no angels either.

1. You couldnt trade kendrick for a box of doughnuts
2. The phillies dont need to trade worley, but instad let rollins walk, sign a good defensive SS and a guy like carlos beltran.
3. Phils need to realize that (if ryan howard didnt just mess himself up too bad) there is no better time to trade howar than now. From now till the end of his career he's never goingto be what the team needs him to be. You could get some really good players in return from a team like the angels, blue jays, or mariners.
