Mario kart in freaking hi def, finnally. Playing MK Wii on wide screen looked like a muddy mess. This game looks and plays amazing.

I bought a WiiU yesterday just to play MK8. This game is so much fun! Playing online can definitely provide some rage inducing moments though. Not uncommon to be sitting pretty in second with the finish in sight, get plowed, and finish 12th haha. Anyone want to play? My Nintendo Network ID is ObjectiveHazard.

Super Smash Brothers WiiU comes out on Friday although I can't find the bundle anywhere that has the GC controller and adapter. They have it online at a number of places but none of them guarantee that I'll receive it on launch day .

I haven't found the concept of amiibos too compelling as of yet.

It really isn't. I'm only buying it because I wanted some to display on my shelf. There's nothing these figurines can do that they couldn't do by selling DLC on the eShop. The only plus is that support will be spread across several games. The whole NFC thing is just a way to get more money out of kids by selling them toys and games at the same time.

Some of the figures don't look all that great either. Look up Captain Falcon's amiibo (a recent pic, not the ones from the original announcement), he has a post holding him up that goes into his taint.

Yeah seriously, they should have at least made the support post clear. I would have just put him in a different pose so that he can stand up himself. Diddy Kong looks like he has piss running down his arm and Zelda is taking a giant purple dump.

Even though I'm pretty sure Nintendo's about to give up on this thing, I'm pretty hyped to play Super Mario Maker next week. It's a game that lets you make your own Mario levels. Reviewers have gotten early copies and already the levels are looking pretty impressive. You can do some pretty wild shit in the game too.

Are you basing this on the fact that the only big holiday release is Star Fox Zero? I was definitely hoping for a new Metroid, Zelda, etc. to be released on the Wii U.

I think they're likely going to release the new Zelda on both the Wii U and the NX (codename for the new system). Obviously they're going to release all the titles they've announced so far the system, but I doubt they're planning for the Wii U to be a thing beyond 2016.

So did anyone else pick up Super Mario Maker? I've been having a lot of fun in the level creator. A lot of the levels are ass (no shock there) but I've seen some pretty clever ones too. Here are mine:

I got a lot of compliments for "Carnival of Horrors" so I recommend trying that one first. Some people told me "Run for your life!" is too hard, but I think it's a fun level nonetheless.

I enjoyed playing all of your levels.

Run for your life! didn't seem too hard once I realized that there was an invisibility star inside the music note block on the upper level.

I think that my favorite level was Not Lemmy's Fortress.

Well, if there was any doubt that this system is done, yesterday certainly put it to rest. The new Zelda has been delayed to 2017 and it's coming to both the NX (codename for their new system) and the Wii U. The release schedule this year is even more sparse than last year.
