so yeah, a 14 team league drains the talent pool without a doubt in my opinon. Couldn't imagine being in a 20 team league (granted I assume roster size would be smaller)

Yeah, I'm not too sure about my selections. In some ways it turned out better than expected, but there were major disappointments. Particularly at the RB position. I tend to go for depth at RB for the extra consistency. However, none of the RBs I wanted were really available at the time of my picks. On the other hand, I'm really strong on WR, and I would love to trade Mike Wallace for a strong 2-3 round RB.

Another issue is that I didn't reach for a backup QB until like round 15. In a 10 man league there would still have been selections available at that stage. Orton, Cassel, Campbell, Fitzpatrick, etc. But in a 14 man league this was not the case, and I had to settle for Colt McCoy.

Anyway, excited to start the season!

I agree, I was torn with my first 2 picks, wasn't sure what I wanted to do. I usually like to get 2 solid RBs with my first 2 picks, but having to wait 22 more picks, plus the 4 picks in between my 1st and 2nd pick, I didn't know who really to take. I guess we will see how it goes though.

I hate Tony Romo, and having him on my team means I have to root for him to do well.

I hate ESPN's waiver wire system and the fact that you have to wait to add anyone to your waiver wish list.

Just noticed that for some reason ESPN's schedule generator put 2 of the teams on byes for all weeks. When I get home I will look into seeing if I can fix the schedule, and for week 1 just have those 2 teams have played each other.

Anyone have any idea if the 14 team league would cause the bye situation?

14 teams is a crappy # and I will take the heat for that. Depending on when you want to start the playoffs (week 14 or 15) we have only a couple options:

#1) play every other team once...start playoffs week 14

#2) play division opponents twice..and 1 random teams from other division(start playoffs week 14)

#3) play division opponents twice..and 2 random teams from other division(start playoffs week 15)

#4) play division oppoents twice start playoffs week 13

#5)Split into 3 divisions (5 teams, 5 teams, 4 teams) play division opponents 2 times, and 5 or 6 random opponents from other divisions (depends on playoffs week 14 or 15).


I vote option #5. Have 3 divisions (5 teams, 5 teams, 4 teams). top 3 teams in each division make playoffs, and then the next 3 teams with the best record (tiebreaker being most points).

I was going to have the playoffs run week 14,15,16 (6 teams 1 week matchups)

Option #5 we could do:

Div 1 (5 teams)
8 Division games
5 random opponents

Div 2 (5 teams)
8 division games
5 random opponents

Div 3 (4 teams)
6 rivision games
7 random opponents

or

9 division games ( 3 games each opponent)
4 random opponents


Playoffs would be 3 division winners and 3 teams with best overal record sorted by points scored.

I used the random generator thing that I used for the draft to make up 3 divisions, and generated it until there were no teams that played week 1 in the same division.

Just got off the phone with ESPN about the tie in our league. Evidently even though the scores are only shown to the tenth of a point (112.3 in this case i believe), for ties the score is taken down to the next decimal point until there is a difference between the two scores whether it be thousandth place, etc. That was what I was told, when I get home I will look to see if I can find the score down to those deciding decimal places.

with the season entering the latter stages, I wanted to see if any of the current Managers would want to continue/start an annual TWW league beginning next year. It could be free or for $$$, I am just trying to find a league that continues from year to year, as opposed to searching for new leagues every year. I think a 10 or 12 team league would be best. Would anyone be interested in doing that?
