keeper league that I am one of 4 new members... so everyone got to keep 2 people, and we have a prelim draft of those left available afterwards. I picked up Mendenhall and Romo, dude man got the picks Jaybee mentioned, and two other guys still have a pick left, one got Brady, and the other got Ray Rice

I came up with a program to show the best possible 2010 draft using last years numbers. (Assumes constant point value of total points in season divided by 16. Ignores backups, injuries, kickers, defenses, etc.)

i have mccoy at rb1, and shit for rb2. i already have v jax and maclin at wr. so would trading beanie wells (i know he's the guy at arizona now) and brandon marshall for mcfadden a good trade? the numbers look good to me, am i missing anything? (.5 PPR)

draft tonight in a keeper league. I have Rivers and S. Jackson along with the 7th pick. here is who is on the board still...

A. Peterson
J. Charles
R. Mendenhall
A. Johnon
C. Johnson
M. Turner
D. McFadden
R. White
Calvin Johnson
L. McCoy
L. Fitzgerald
M. Jones-Drew
P. Hillis
F. Gore

just to name a few of the top left. Wondering which of these lower end RBs will have the big year as i'm sure the top 3-4 on that list will be gone.

Im big on mccoy... but i might also look at those receivers... im gonna post something similar on here in a little bit.

So yeah, I guess it depends on what you need... I got my 2 "keepers" in a prelim draft- Romo and Mendenhall, and there are a couple of RB's left, and some better receivers. I have the 2nd pick in the Draft coming up, and I'm not sure which way to go. It is PPR, and you play 2 RB, 2WR, a TE, and a WR/T. Also, it is a 14 team league so I'm gonna have to wait 24 picks until I can go again:

Gore
Forte
Steven Jackson
Calvin Johnson
Greg Jennings
H. Nicks
M. Austin

My question is should I go for one of those three running backs, or go for Johnson or Jennings (which I'm more inclined to do) and see if I can pick up a Blount, Bush, LT, or maybe even Best, or Moreno later on...

^x4 and ^

Gore is ranked 12th in the ppr rankings so he has a 1st round grade in a 14 team league. Plus he plays against the Cardinals the same week Mendenhall is on bye (may help you cover the points you aren't getting from Mendenhall).

With that being said with his injury history, and the potential production of a #1 WR in a ppr league, you may want to lean towards Nicks (16th in ppr ranks), Jennings (20th) or Johnson (24th) to lock down a proven #1 WR.

I'd go with Calvin or Nicks since you have 3 WR slots left to fill (including the W/T flex spot)

yeah, the amount of middle of the pack RB's really out weighs the amount of top teir WR's - I'm honestly surprised he made it through the Supplemental draft

Peyton will still play- you will just have to get a backup QB you are comfortable with starting the first 2-4 weeks and whenever their bye is (week 11 maybe?)

So I'm kinda thin on running backs (14 person league) and I was thinking about trading a guy who is infatuated with Rivers for a RB. The backs I have now are Shonn Greene, Hightower and Lynch.

What do you guys think about this trade:
I get: Peyton Manning (putting my faith in his health) and Rashard Mendenhall
He gets: Philip Rivers and Marshawn Lynch OR Tim Hightower (haven't decided which RB yet)

I'd probably do that trade, too. I took a gamble on Peyton Manning in one of my drafts, so he better be healthy.

I'm in the middle of an online draft right now, and my wife is playing for the first time in her life. She knows next to nothing about football, and through four rounds, she's definitely managed to out-draft me.

How likely do you think a chris johnson holdout is? If he holds out I'm totally screwed, my RB's are pretty weak besides him.

i think i have a pretty solid team, in a family league for $50 per player (my retard cousin picked GB Defense in Round 1, pick 5)

what does everyone think about this team? curious

this league favors RBs heavily

QB Philip Rivers
QB Josh Freeman
RB Darren McFadden
RB LeGarrette Blount
RB DeAngelo Williams
RB Felix Jones
RB CJ Spiller
WR Vincent Jackson
WR Julio Jones
WR Deion Branch
WR Johnny Knox
TE Jimmy Graham
K Sebastian Janikowski
D/ST Pittsburgh Steelers

how many teams in the league? I would say weak at WR, but if its a 14+ team league its not bad

eh, it's a 10 team league, but i feel like WRs are hit or miss. mine are weak but if i play matchups correctly i think i'll do well, plus i think Jimmy Graham is going to have a hell of a year.

[Edited on August 24, 2011 at 9:51 PM. Reason : outside of the elite WRs]

Who do you people think will make the best every-week starter, Felix Jones or Mark Ingram? Or is it basically down to matchups?

Like I said, my RB situation is weak, had to wait until round 6 to pick my 2nd and it's a 12 team league. But the damage is minimized because there's just 2 RBs and no flex spots.

my team:
1. (5) Chris Johnson RB
2. (20) Reggie Wayne WR
3. (29) Greg Jennings WR
4. (44) Jeremy Maclin WR
5. (53) Matt Schaub QB
6. (68) Mark Ingram RB
7. (77) Owen Daniels TE
8. (92) Felix Jones RB
9. (101) Johnny Knox WR
10.(116) Malcom Floyd WR
11.(125) San Diego DEF
12.(140) Mike Williams WR
13.(149) Michael Bush RB
14.(164) Donovan McNabb QB
15.(173) Alex Henery K

that's tough...Ingram seems to be doing well in NO, and Jones is a threat to be a gamebreaker if he can stay healthy.

i would go with Ingram until he gives you a reason not to, or until Jones is playing every game with 15-20 carries per game.

I'm doing Fantasy Football for the first time ever this year. I've played hockey twice and won once. I hate that I have to travel during the draft and try to set up a fail safe drafting system, but damn that's going to take hours of work I don't wanna do. Is that an efficient method for doing this on Yahoo than just going through the predraft list? The last time I missed a draft in hockey I drafted all left wingers and don't want all of the same position in football obviously

The computer has some built in AI that will make sure you get enough of each position, but it still makes stupid decisions sometimes or gets players you wouldn't take.

Yeah, I've been trying to go through the list and remove players I don't want, but man I don't follow football enough to make educated guesses, but a buddy of mine convinced me to do it. I hope I have the same luck I had the first year I did hockey and got Sidney Crosby, so come on Arian Foster/Aaron Rodgers/etc

Suggestions on my week 1 line-up? (Yes, I know it's early)

Starters:

Matt Cassel
Chris Johnson
Frank Gore
Joseph Addai
Reggie Wayne
Mike Williams
Antonio Gates
Giants D/ST
Billy Cundiff

BN:

Joe Flacco
Anquan Boldin
Ravens D/ST
Mike Thomas
Kellen Winslow
Ronnie Brown
Darren Sproles

--

Starting Cassel over Flacco because it's KC vs. Buf and Bal vs. Pitt, I don't see Flacco making much headway against the Steelers D. Same with Anquan being benched for Mike Williams. Not too happy with starting Joseph Addai but seeing as how Peyton is out for Game 1 I think the Colts will be running the ball more than normal. Giants D are playing against the Redskins who have a pretty limpdick offense whereas Ravens are playing vs. Steelers, and even though I love the Ravens, I don't see them winning this game.

Thoughts?

KC loves to run the ball and Flacco will have to throw to win the game....statistically your chance for high points will come from Flacco. The matchup isnt as great but Flacco will definitely throw more often and for more yards.

the Giants D is struggling with a ton of injuries right now...dont be so quick to assume the Redskins will play dead. But the Ravens matchup isnt any better (probably slightly worse) so I would stick with the Giants.

Waiver wire another D? Could be a better matchup out there.

Is there a reason why everyone is down on Marcedes Lewis this year? If I wait to get a TE, he is dropping pretty far, but I really like him at that position. He made the pro bowl last year, and really helped me out in one of my leagues last year.

looks like I've got the 9th pick in my 10 team league draft...10th pick team is on autopilot so far

gonna see if I can get McCoy and Rodgers (PPR league) with my first two, although maybe MJD and McCoy if he falls that far

ooh, or maybe McCoy and Calvin

here's my Falcons-heavy team (PPR)

1. (9) LeSean McCoy RB
2. (12) Roddy White WR
3. (29) Mike Wallace WR
4. (32) DeSean Jackson WR
5. (49) Matt Ryan QB
6. (52) Jahvid Best RB
7. (69) Ryan Mathews RB
8. (72) Tony Gonzalez TE
9. (89) Michael Bush RB
10. (92) Steve Smith WR
11. (109) Kevin Kolb QB
12. (112) C.J. Spiller RB
13. (129) New York DEF
14. (132) Garrett Hartley K

here's some of the logic behind my draft:

- Jahvid Best isn't really sharing carries
- i think Matthews is going to have the season people thought he would last year, imo good value
- Michael Bush is gonna steal DMac's goalline carries

wonder if i should drop Spiller and pick up Ronnie Brown to handcuff McCoy? Spiller was one of my 'meh' picks

Id hold onto Spiller until they name the starting RB for the Bills. Last week Spiller was starting, now its back to a split with Fred Jackson. There's no question about Ronnie's role

I already have mendenhall and Romo, and I think i'm going to be offered Mccoy for my 2nd overall pick (which I was going to put towards a receiver) - no pick for 24 picks after that, so my receiver corp might be crummy, but I'll have 2 elite PPR running backs

got the 10th pick out of 10 teams, the mock drafts i've run seem to indicate i'll get vick and the best remaining rb. one scenario has peyton manning available at my 4th pick. would i be a fool not to take him or should i keep drafting rbs and wrs?

Just drop Hartley and pick up Brown. Roster spots only needed to be wasted on kickers during the 3 hours of actual gametime. Drop and pick them up at your convenience.
