normally i figure a team wouldnt want overtime in the preseason
but with how short the PRE preseason was, no OTAs, etc, i'd want as much experience as i could get

Matt Prater was arrested for driving under the influence last week in the Denver area, according to the Denver Post. He’s charged with DUI and fleeing the scene of an accident.
We have to assume the Broncos were aware of the 10-day old incident. Prater kicked in Thursday night’s preseason opener, hitting all three of his field goals." |

that's kind of what i mean though, he's just silently manned up to the hype. he was a starter on a national title winning football team, and now a promising rookie, what more could you ask of a kid? i love it. 8/13/2011 1:34:27 AM |

If it makes you guys feel any better about Nate:
Quote : | "THE PLAY OF TRAINING CAMP Arguably the play of training camp thus far came in the first team session of the afternoon. Rookie linebacker Nate Irving dropped into coverage as quarterback Tim Tebow went back to pass. As Tebow released it for tight end Julius Thomas downfield, Irving broke to his left. Then he jumped, and with his right hand he reached back behind himself at full extension for the leaping, one-handed interception. The ball stuck to his glove as if it was Velcro and Irving landed on his feet and was able to run 20 yards upfield. The defense whooped, hollered and all ran onto the field in a frenzy to give Irving props." |

Merrill Hoge is such a douchebag, he's obviously just trying to go against the norm and create buzz with his little shock value statements. He did it with his Tim Tebow comments and now he's stirring the Cam Newton pot. Saying that Cam should be benched all year is ridiculous 8/16/2011 9:46:51 AM |

the way i see it, he's never been a coach. yeah he played, and he can sit in Bristol and play with his board thingy. but a coach knows better than Hoge. if Hoge was a player personnel guru, his ass would have left ESPN years ago.
i've always thought he was a raging twat. and oh yeah, like everyone else at ESPN, he'll never admit when he made a wrong prediction/assessment. 8/16/2011 10:46:35 AM |

The eagles arent looking too "dreamy" tonight. I bet Matthew Berry is holding his breathe that Vick has a better 3rd preseason game (he has been very outspoken with vick being the #1 overall fantasy pick)
Cotchery looking good now that he's on the field. I hate seeing him in a Steelers jersey though
Terry Bradshaw should never, ever be allowed in the booth again, he horrible
The Steelers are the NFL's version of walmart nation. Their shitty fans, who've never stepped foot in the shithole known as Pittsburgh, will be coming out of the woodwork very soon 8/18/2011 9:14:58 PM |

I disagree. With how good the Steelers have been and how average the cowboys have been recently I see probably 4-5 steelers fans for every cowboys fan. Hell I can think of two friends who are cowboys fans and at least ten who are steelers fans.
The cowboys were the NFLs walmart nation in the 90s, but since 2000 the steelers took over. In my personal opinion and observation 8/18/2011 9:37:11 PM |

having been to games against both the Steelers and Cowboys (in Charlotte, of course) Cowboys fans are WAY worse, regardless of year/record
and absolutely zero of them are from Dallas
a good amount of Steelers fans in this area/state are actually from Pittsburgh/Pennsylvania
and those that don't live here actually travel with the team
big difference between hardcore fans and bandwagon fans

You're the driver of the DROD bandwagon, ernie
And for the record, I don't mind fans of teams who are from the city their team plays in. People who have never been to Pittsburgh or Dallas, etc and bought a steelers/cowboys jersey just because they are winning are the fans I can't stand. The steelers fans I know that are actually from Pittsburgh are okay in my book (plus they are more respectful and knowledgeable than bandwagoners) 8/18/2011 10:09:59 PM |

Toot toot
But really, bandwagon fans in professional sports are people who pull for teams only because they're winning, like post-2004 Red Sox fan. Because you're not from Dallas or Pittsburgh doesn't matter if you've been pulling for them for generations. Pre-1994 NC NFL fans who weren't carpetbaggers were all bandwagoners? Come on. Pro teams don't give a shit about the city they're playing in (you know that, Cavs fan). Completely different from college sports.
