The problem with your complaint, though, is that TOB did have depth in place:

Sterling Lucas (senior): injured for the year
Hans Rice (RS soph): transferred
EJ Carter (soph): kicked off team for grades

And Rickey Dowdy (RS soph.) is still on the team, but he's getting passed on the depth chart by freshmen. He's not on the injury list, which tells me he's just sucking in practice.

Regardless, it's frustrating that our depth is weak in some areas. But look at our tight ends; arguably the best position group as a whole in the conference. So to say that TOB was not prepared going in is foolish.

Injuries are one thing. The fact that one dude transferred, one dude was too stupid, and the other is too sorry to play is on TOB. He and the coaches he hires recruit these kids so if they are too stupid it is his fault for going after them or if they transfer, it is his fault for not convincing them to stay, and if they just suck, then he did not evaluate them correctly. Yeah it is a harsh judgement, but it comes with making a 7 figure salary.

^^^Every program in the country deals with players transferring. To say that it's on TOB and his staff for players leaving is ridiculous.

Do you really think we should be the only school that no one ever transfers out of? What if a guy has family issues to deal with and wants to be closer to home? Not every player on the team is from Raleigh. I just think you're thinking a little narrowly in regards to a staff's responsibility for players leaving the program in general.

every team has transfers and injuries. if you can't coach through that then you can't coach. if you can't put up a formidable fight with any group of guys, you can't coach. you can't use the "we had a ton of injuries this year" excuse three times.
