Way to put in betemit again at a crucial situation. He again strikes out without touching the ball. Great call leyland

I was saying this last series too though. We're fucked on offense if we have to bat raburn 2nd.

It should be

Jackson
Mags
Peralta
Cabrera
Vmart
Raburn
Avila
Inge
Santiago

Greinke (who is sort of a weird suicidal twat) on Carpenter (who is sort of a boss):

Obviously doesn't realize that he plays on a team with Nyjer Morgan and Prince Fielder

kelly back to right field... bat him 2nd??? Not sure, posting my lineup below... i agree to keep betemit off the plate. he was strong in the regular season but hasnt handled the playoffs well at all

jackson CF
santiago 2nd
peralta SS
cabrera 1B
vmart DH
avila C
raburn LF
kelly RF
inge 3B

thats my 2 cents, but i'm gonna trust leyland's antics for tomorrow

how's that the first postseason walkoff grandslam in history

thought Joey Devine gave up like 2 of those against the Astros that year

^^ Devine gave up a solo walk off HR to Chris Burke against the Astros back in 2005. That was one of those games that still makes me want to puke. Braves blew a 5 run lead in the 8th and 9th innings and then the game went to the 18th when Burke hit his HR.

What you are thinking of is that Devine gave up grand slams in each of his first two professional outings (only pitcher ever to do that ). That was also in 2005, but neither happened in the playoffs.

^ let's see what other names I can come up with that would make Braves fans want to hurl:

1. Eric Gregg
2. Livan Hernandez
3. Jim Leyritz
4. Randy Johnson
5. Dan Gladden
6. Lonnie Smith
7. Kirby Puckett
8. Kent Hrbek
9. Kyle Farnsworth
10. Kenshin Kawakami
11. Dan Kolb
12. Hunter Pence

Ernie, please feel free to add some more.

Couple weeks ago I started a Melky Cabrera All-Stars post in the Braves thread, but I ran out of steam

Maybe when I get around to 2012 thread

That said, 13. Raul Mondesi

[Edited on October 11, 2011 at 10:50 AM. Reason : 14. Jack Morris, 15. John Wetteland]

Yeah Jack Morris is a great addition. I guess you gotta throw Brooks Conrad up there too considering he lost the NLDS by himself last year.

I love Ron Washington and Michael Young, but what is he still doing batting 4th?

I know you have to give one of the best contact hitters in baseball a chance to get hot, but where the wisdom in keeping him in the 4 spot with 1 hit and no RBIs all postseason, while taking chances away from Beltre, Napoli, and Cruz, arguably 3 of the hottest bats in the game right now?

Case in point, last night Michael Young had 4 plate appearances to Cruz's 3. Wouldn't Washington rather have had the guy who hit 2 homeruns the night before up in the top of the 9th with the game on the line?

If porcello throws as many high sinkers as he did vs ny, i say we lose 12-6

If not, we win 6-4
