vandenberg makes too many stupid fouls
vandeberg needs to learn to go up strong with rebounds instead of passing them out
howell/painter looked really good tonight; though against UNC-A it looked like they were scared of using the backboard. need to work on that (lots of easy layups missed because they're trying that weak-ass finger roll shit; just bank it in)
too many 3 pointer attempts (we have some decent shooters, but I don't know if we're that good to be thowing up every open 3 attempt we get.
looks like we lost a lot of battles on the block (offense & defense)
kinda the same as above, but the big men aren't playing like big men down low on the set offense; or they're at least struggling a lot.
harris should be getting fewer minutes (good enthusiasm and determination, just not ready)

^^regarding harris: when a team is up by that much and has a player who is 'just not ready,' he should be getting MORE minutes, to give him game experience.

^^well yeh. but it seems liked he's played quite a few minutes (other than scrub minutes) the last two games. maybe it's just my perception, but he seems to have played quite a bit (25 min over 2 games is a lot for him)

^you also have to keep in mind that Thomas and Calvin are out right now. I'm pretty sure Harris won't see as many minutes moving forward. But he has played well and has decent stats for an unheralded freshman. He'll probably help us some this season and should be solid role player in the near future.

^^i don't like talking shit about javi and i don't want to be presumptuous, but i'm thinking that AJohnson is going to be an upgrade this season

Alex Johnson hasn't shot well thus far, but he did make more threes than Wood last year.
and Scott tied reggie jackson @ #3 in the ACC @ 3pointers: 72 3s and 41.9% beyond the arc

They both made the NCAA tournament last year. UNCA probably will again. It is clear that Farried (sp?) was a lot of Morehead's team, but still we played damn good. I've never seen an NC State team move the ball that well. I hope that doesn't stop when Calvin comes back.

P.S. the crowd fucking sucked! Empty seats all in there. It's a Sunday game at 6 PM against a NCAA tournament team from last year. We were the only ones on my row.

It's obvious to me that no one has any confidence at all in Vandy. He wasn't even taking rebounds right under the basket back up for layups, and the guards weren't dishing him the ball when he was open down low.

It was really sad. He played a lot of minutes and got only a couple of rebounds and no points (and like four blocks).

just finished watching the replay on espn3... wow, i have NEVER seen ball movement, cutting, well... people that look like they know what the fuck they are doing from an NCState bball team as far as i can remember.

alex johnson is going to be the steal of the year and we're going to talk about this kid long after he's gone.

What also felt good about this win, and even "The UNC-A" game was that we beat teams pretty handily that are well-coached and disciplined teams. How many friggin charges did we get called for? We weren't running up and down the court show-boating and dunking out to almost a 40pt lead, we methodically beat the hell out of a team.

I hope the best, but he's been way off on his shooting and he's got a ways to go to be a factor in conference play.

We're at our best with Lobo and CJW in the backcourt, let's hope he becomes a solid contributor off the bench without taking too many minutes away from our most effective lineups.

It's tempting to play him because he's a more natural PG than Lobes but we've already seen how problematic it is to play with a handcuff at the PG position (Javi, Harrow, etc). I'd rather put a legit ACC player out there that isn't a "true" PG.

Johnson shot 36% from the field last year. Granted, most of his shots were 3's, but he's not a good shooter.

I like the frontcourt depth once Leslie and DeThaey are with the team. Seems like this team should be able to do well in the paint.
