i wonder how many votes we get in the polls. there's around 32 teams with our record or better. not that it matters.

I have a feeling I'm gonna get sick of seeing de Thaey bricking 3s over the next 4 years.

i think he'll get better. that is his second game ever in the USofA and College. plus all Euro-players can hit the three.

De Thaey couldn't hit tonight, but from what I've read he's supposed to be a decent shooter. Hopefully he'll find his touch. It'd be nice to have another somewhat reliable shooter. I liked what I saw from TDT though.

- That was a pretty entertaining game
- Reynolds was probably 65% full
- Stars do matter. Brown and Leslie are clearly our best players. The 4 stars are next, followed by the 3 stars, as you would expect. Brown and leslie are simply faster, get off the ground higher, recover quickly, have better body control, and looked like they were having an easy time out there. These guys plus Wood are our go to offensive guys.
- Painter and Howell are rough inside players. Unless they have an easy look, they rush their shots and just throw the ball up. They have lack of body control inside.
- Missed FTs, dunks, layups, and alley oops are going to get us against the big boys.
- I'm not buying CJ Williams as a defensive stopper. The radio guys made a big deal about him holding the Elon player under his average, but the stellar performances by Jenkins and Jacovan Brown belie their argument. Williams is just too slow to keep up with the other team's best forward/guard.
- The CJ Leslie missed self-oop was pretty funny. He knew immediately that he was going to get taken out of the game. He walked right by a scowling Gottfried, tried not to look at him, and high-fived Early and the rest of the team.
- Alex Johnson always looks like he is having fun.
- I hope we didn't break Scott Wood before the big game versus Indiana.
- DeThay has surprising ups. I guess he kept Vandy out of the game.
- Elon has this smoking hot blonde manager.

Elon's smoking hot manger was pissed the whole time. She ignored Mr. Wuf, too.

She also transferred from State before last year.

He left the game to get work done on his ankle in the second half. Maybe just a re-tape, but he was gimping around the whole game. Maybe he is a fast healer, though. Would suck to have it nag him for the whole year.

Didn't know Vandy had family at the game. That sucks. I figured TDT would take some of Vandy's minutes, but I was surprised Vandy didn't get in at all at the end of the game.

-Leslie was very obviously the best athlete on the floor when he was in there, and he is gonna get a lot of putbacks this year just by crashing the boards on offense.

-LoBrow is very smooth, and his ability to create his own shot will win us some games this season.

-Wood didn't look that gimpy. He is 8-13 behind the arc since rolling his ankle, so it hasn't affected his shot.

-de Thaey is a solid all-around player and a tough defender, as his stuff at the rim showed. He will get a lot of minutes because he plays smart and hard. But he's really not a great shooter. Even in the Euro league, he was barely hitting 30% of his 3's. Don't assume that his shot will come around.

-Howell and Painter continue to struggle with their touch around the basket.

-This team will win some games. A winning ACC record and a tournament bid is certainly possible.

Thomas goes up to get the ball not just to get a chance. If he gets a hand on it it's his. Love seeing a guy with strength and knowing how to use it in the paint.

FYI 2 of the 3 players you mentioned failed to hit their scoring average with Williams guarding them.

Yeah good lord, between those three walking back and forth every two minutes to pick up towels, and the dance team, I was never bored. Those ladies never looked very happy though.

Gottfried is making sure that Leslie knows who is in command. No more inmates running the asylum. He told Harrow to get fucked when Harrow tried to make demands, and now he is telling Leslie very clearly that he won't get in the game unless he acts like a team player. In the long run, it'll be beneficial for both Leslie and the team.

That said, Leslie has NBA athleticism, and I don't see him sticking around after this year.
