i watched most of the game...stuff like DJ's missed FTs, sloppy passes leading to turnovers, Diop deciding to shoot instead of dunk or kick it out...seemed like a regular case of first-preseason-game-of-the-year-after-lockout rust

can't believe the box score doesn't show things like that, surely statistics can explain everything related to the human element

the good thing about the box score is that it's based on reality and not swayed by things that can be easily manipulated and are typically wrong. Like opinions.

until the box score accounts for no-calls, superstar preferential treatment, etc, i'll still take the eye test

this was the first game we've played in 8 months, you act like you're going off a 30 game sample size and not the first "real" basketball the team has played since April

Just watched the highlights. All I can gather, other than no one being in the arena, is that Kemba already seems to be the go-to guy at the end of games. Dude is lightning quick.

^^Ehhh, it's just one game, and the first preseason game at that. DJ won't turn it over 6 times most nights. Tyrus Thomas won't shoot 3-14 most nights. Byombo should be able to help with post defense and rebounding soon.

Just looking at the box score, there's a few good signs. Diaw and Henderson both shot it well. Derrick Brown had 10 points on 4-6 shooting and 10 boards. Kemba didn't shoot it well but shot 11 free throws ... which makes me think he'll score a lot from the stripe this year.

Most importantly, we did win the game ... over a playoff team who was playing most (maybe all?) of their regulars. Ugly, but not terrible.

Henderson had a pretty awful line. He's supposed to be a playmaker. Augustin was abysmal.
